Stage Crew Duties:1. Curtain - Opening and closing the curtain2. Dressers - assists with costumes/costume
props/and personal assistance in dressing3. Stage hand - set up and take down of set
and scenery props
Designers duties:1. Props - responsible for research and
acquisition of personal effects andmovable properties
Sets - responsible for research, design andpainting of flats and large fixtures
Lighting - responsible for stage and hoselighting and maintenance of equipment.
Costumes - responsible for accurate andconvincing costuming and maintenance.
Sound Effects and incidental music are theresponsibility of the audio engineers,working with the designer.

Stage Craft Facts
stage craft - the craft of creating and achieving the prop1, scene sets, lighting, costume,
*d7o, sound for a production. Risponsibilities may also include designing and creating
art works to publicize a production.
Producer - oversees and is responsible for all elements of the production.
Director - understands the premise or goal of the production and is responsible forfinding the performers to perform necessary roles'
Art Director - works with the production director to produce a polislrcd performance.
Assistant - a specifically assigped helper and team member who may share variedresponsibifities in decisions, *tigri"gl"verseeing stage crew tasks, and achievrng goals'
Stege Manager- an assistant to the art director; must see that all actors, lights, props,
m.rsi., etc. are in readiness for any rehearsal or perfomtance.
Stage Crery - assistants to the stage manager; respons^ible for designing,-creating,assJmbtng/disassembling the too[ of a production before, during, and after the program.

Spectacle - an event in which individuals perform predetermined actions or speakestablished dialogue.

Arch - the architectural "frame" in which the curtain hangs.
Backdrop - large flat surface at the rear of the stage; the background behind the action.
Backstage - the part of the stage not seen by the audience; includes the dressing rooms,waiting areas, and prop room
costume - a style of dress including garrrents, apcessories, and hair style.
FIat - a piece of rigid upright scenery.
Hand props - personal properties used by individual players in the action of a play.
