Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time - October 4, 2020 Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Dear parishioners, Our bazaar has been a success! Thanks to all who bought tickets and BBQ and bid on the auction! For those who have not yet bid, the auction does not close until 6pm today, so you still have a chance. Sorry about running out of BBQ so fast last Sunday. The re- sponse was overwhelming! It’s a good problem to have! I am personally humbled by the generosity, in money, time, and labor, of all who have been involved. Here’s to an even big- ger bazaar next year! Also, please pray for all our young people who will be confirmed tonight and made full members of the mystical body of Christ that is the Church. May God fill them with grace to complete the missions he has created them for. God bless you all, Fr.

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church

Dear parishioners, Our bazaar has been a success! Thanks to all who bought tickets and BBQ and bid

on the auction! For those who have not yet bid, the auction does not close until 6pm today, so you still have a chance. Sorry about running out of BBQ so fast last Sunday. The re-sponse was overwhelming! It’s a good problem to have! I am personally humbled by the generosity, in money, time, and labor, of all who have been involved. Here’s to an even big-ger bazaar next year!

Also, please pray for all our young people who will be confirmed tonight and made full members of the mystical body of Christ that is the Church. May God fill them with grace to complete the missions he has created them for.

God bless you all, Fr.

Today’s Readings First Reading - The vineyard of the Lord is the house of Israel (Isaiah 5:1-7). Psalm - The vineyard of the Lord is the house of Israel (Psalm 80). Second Reading - God’s peace will guard your hearts and minds (Philippians 4:6-9). Gospel - The kingdom of God will be given to those who will produce its fruit

Parish Sympathies - Deepest parish sympathies are extended to the family of:

Clarence Dittert, father of Melinda Brod; Otto Bilski, brother of Joe Bilski

Into your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our loved ones. In this life you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest. The old order has passed away; welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your children and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen. May these souls, all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. Let us pray that by the virtue of baptism, the laity, especially women, may participate more in areas of responsibility in the Church. (Holy Father's Prayer Intention) O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Sanctuary Lights - The Sanctuary Light burns in celebration of the birthday of Tambra Gomez.

Altar Flowers - This week the altar flowers are provided by the parish in honor of the Confirmation students. The flowers next weekend will be provided by Fr. Jonathan Moré in memory of his grandfather.

Coast to Coast Rosary 2020 - Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Sunday, October 11, 3:00-4:00 pm

Please join us with a multitude of prayer warriors worldwide again this year in the Rosary and Eucharis-tic Adoration for the Coast to Coast Rosary. At this most critical time, we will pray for the Sanctity of Life, Marriage and Family, Religious Liberties for our Country and for the World.

Please make plans to join us for this special event.

HOA/Meals on Wheels of Austin Country: Thanks all those who recently volunteered to help…. BUT Needs a FEW More!

This organization serves meals in 2 ways to senior citizens of Austin County: Home Delivered Meals: hot, nutritionally balanced meals 5 days per week are delivered by a volunteer to homebound senior citizens. These seniors must be over the age of 60 and lack the ability to adequately prepare a noon meal. Congregate Meals: hot, nutritionally balanced meals are served 5 days per week at a designated location. Meals are provid-ed without a stated cost, but participants are encouraged to donate for the service if able. During the pandemic, participants drive by to pick up their meals.

Donations: Your time and monetary donations make a huge difference. Many senior citizens live on poverty level income with tremendous health expenses. Many of these same citizens have minimum or no contact with any one other than the daily volunteer. Others may not have a hot meal without HOA’s service. Your generosity is needed and appreciated! Please call 979-885-4188 to volunteer or to make a financial donation.

Congratulations to our

Confirmation Students -

Confirmed today, October 4th!

In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spir-it" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. Let us pray for all who are receiving this beautiful sacrament; that their hearts might always be places where the gifts of the Holy Spirit will grow. And that these gifts might bear abundant fruits in their lives as disciples of the Lord Jesus.

Please note if you plan to attend this mass, be-cause of social distancing requirements, only confirmation students, their parents and spon-sors will be seated in the church naïve. All oth-ers will be seated in overflow area in the ICC Center.
