ENVELOPES FOR SCHOOL SUBSIDY AND

CHURCH MAINTENANCE

Thank you for contributing to offset our church maintenance and school subsidy obligations. Anything you are able to give by using the green maintenance or yellow school envelopes, located in the vestibule, is deeply appreciated. As with a home, there are ongoing repair and maintenance projects. The metal landing at the back door of the Lyceum was repaired, at a cost of $1,500. Parishes are expected to continue to support the Catholic Academy of Sussex County. We have been fortunate in the last several years that the Academy has maintained all areas occupied by ICRS. However, maintenance of the school building and modular units has reverted back to the Parish.

Weekly Contributions

Last Week’s Collection: $ 4,236

2016-2017 Diocesan Assessment: $21,960 Collected to Date (Project Faith): $ 1,169

Please know that we are most appreciative for all of your donations. We all know how difficult things are financially for families. So, too, is it to run a parish, as expenses continue to rise. The parish is dependent on income from collections and Mass stipends. Our Sunday collections continue to fall short of needed revenue. We are most grateful for your continued and increased generosity in support of our parish. For whatever you are able to give, may God bless you; you and your intentions are always in our prayers. Remember, God always rewards a generous giver.

To receive credit for your donations, please use our envelope system and write the amount of your

contribution on your envelope.

We ask that you please remember to support your parish when attending Mass elsewhere over the

summer.

THE WEEK OF August 14, 2016 The sanctuary lamp burns this week in memory of Vincent Forschino,

PARISH NOTES During the warm summer months, please keep in mind that you are visiting the House of the Lord when attending Mass. Please dress comfortably

but modestly. Thank You.

Prayers for the Sick Names included in the weekly Prayers of the

Faithful are those who are currently hospitalized, undergoing surgery or who have recently died.

Hospitals do not notify us when parishioners are in the hospital. They will only do so if specifically requested by

the patient. The parish office should be notified by a family member to include names in Prayers of the

Faithful. We would also ask that the Parish Office be notified when

names should be removed from the list of the sick. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

R C I A If you are an adult, or know of an adult who desires to be baptized, or receive First Communion or Confirmation, please contact the parish office. RCIA is aimed at helping a person who wants to become a Catholic, or receive the Sacraments of Initiation. If you

would like to be, or are asked to be, a Godparent for Baptism or Sponsor for Confirmation, you must be confirmed. RCIA classes will begin in the Fall. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

LEGION OF MARY All practicing Catholics, men and women, are

welcome to join. Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 7:15pm.

As we approach the 150th anniversary of our parish, please continue to pray the “Loaded Rosary” project. You will recall the striped packets which were lovingly conceived and launched by Rosanne Huttman on the

occasion of her retirement. In case you have forgotten, loaded rosaries are to be “prayed forward”

each week for a person in our parish, then given to them to select and pray for someone else the following

week. If you have one of these packets in your possession, please sign the book in the next few weeks. The idea is to fill the coming months with prayer for each other, and for the spiritual growth of the parish

as a whole. God bless you all.

The celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will take place at 7pm on

Monday, August 15th. The Legion of Mary would like to encourage all who can to attend this beautiful

celebration, including Holy Mass, Novena to the Immaculate Conception, Adoration and Benediction,

ending at 8:10pm. Children are encouraged to bring a bouquet of flowers to present to Our Lady, and to lead a decade of the rosary. Call Jenny Murphy with any

questions 862-684-0984. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
