How do you read it?” He said in reply, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” He replied to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man fell victim to robbers as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half-dead. A priest happened to be going down that road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. Likewise a Levite came to the place, and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side. But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him was moved with compassion at the sight. He approached the victim, poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them. Then he lifted him up on his own animal, took him to an inn and cared for him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction, ‘Take care of him. If you spend more than what I have given you, I shall repay you on my way back.’ Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?” He answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

Принаймні один з наречених, або їх батьки мають бути зареєстрованими активними парафіянами Церкви Непорочного Зачаття, щоби вінчання могло відбутися саме в наші Церкві Непорочного Зачаття.

Marriage in our Parish Couples planning to marry are requested to make their ar-rangements early, but no less than six (6) months in advance of the proposed date. Pre-marital conferences must be ar-ranged six (6) months prior to the ceremony. At least one of the couple, or their parents should be registered active members of Immaculate Conception Parish to be married at Immaculate Conception Church.
Sick and Homebound If you or a family member are confined to home and unable to attend Divine Liturgy either temporarily or on a con-tinuing basis, and wish to receive Holy Communion, please notify the Parish office (313) 893 1710.

IC Church Restoration We are celebrating the Centennial of Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Parish. The cor-nerstone of our first Church in Hamtramck was blessed on December 25, 1913, and the building was completed and blessed in 1914. Therefore, it is fitting for us to celebrate this very important milestone of our Ukrainian-America Community in 2014. To preserve Immaculate Conception Ukraini-an Catholic Church, its beautiful icons, murals, paintings, and the artistry of Mr. Mychajlo Dmytrenko is the responsibility of our Parish-ioners and our Detroit Ukrainian-American com-munity. Working together, we will secure our beautiful Church for future generations. Here they will be baptized, have their first commun-ion, have their marriage blessed, and receive their final blessing at the time appointed by God. At this time, we are reinitiating the fundraising campaign for the Third Phase of the IC Church restoration project. We ask you to once again be zealous and generous in your donations. The estimated cost of this next phase is $175,000. It is a significant cost. As was the case with the
first phase of this project, it is achievable if we all do our part. We ask you to consider making another effort, another sacrifice, and help us restore our beautiful Church. This will help to preserve a historic place of worship for future generations of Ukrainian-American families in the metropolitan Detroit area.
