Dear Families,
Over the next few weeks, the students in grades 3-8 will be
trained in a program called Safe 2 Say. This is program is from the
Department of Homeland Security and the Sandy Hook Promise As-
sociation. This program will teach the students the importance of
recognizing a problem, and finding a solution to that problem.
I will be conducting the training from a PowerPoint that was
given to me from the Department of Homeland Security. I will rein-
force that the students should feel safe at school, and encourage
the children to let me know if there is any problems at school.
The students will have access to an APP called Safe 2 Say, which
is free and can be downloaded on the Apple and Android store. This
APP is an online reporting system, and the students will be able to
make a report from their phone or tablets.
The police will receive a copy of the report as well as IHM
teachers leadership team. The school will investigate any matter
that is something that can be addressed at our level and the au-
thorities will investigate any serious report that comes through the
system.
If you have any questions about the program please feel free to
reach out to me. Thank you for all that you do make IHM the best
school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia!
Give it Your Best!

Our Yankee Candle sale is well under way. Please send all order forms in by Tuesday,
October 8th. It is important to note that 40% of every dollar spent on Yankee Candle
fundraising merchandise goes to IHM Home and School to support our students and our
school. This is a great way to get some Christmas shopping done. They offer delightful
candles, delicious popcorn, cute gifts, quality wrapping paper and much more. Yankee
Candle fundraising offers a lot of ways to reach your friends and family near and far.
Using the Yankee Fundraising app, you can share fundraising information via text, email
and social media. You can also sign up online; however, if you want to share on social me-
dia, the app is the way to go. Our online store will be open until January 8th, 2020.
Please contact Bridget or Alison if you have any questions via fundrais-
Please join us in congratulating this year’s winners of the $250 Referral Raffle: Kellie
and Scott Hudecki. To be entered in the raffle, the referred family needs to note who
referred them on the application, and then enroll at IHM. The raffle drawing takes
place at the beginning of the school year, once all students are enrolled and actively at-
tending IHM. IHM will be hosting three open houses over the next week: Sunday, Tues-
day and Thursday. We encourage all families to refer their friends and family.
We would like to start to recommend good books to our students and families. If your
student has read something they love, please let us know and we will share the book.
This weeks’ selection comes from Wanda Thomas; it is President of the Whole 5th
Grade by Sherri Winston from the President series. The book gets great reviews on
Amazon and Good Reads. As a reminder, please be sure to use Amazon Smile to help
support IHM.
Looking for a fast and easy weeknight dinner idea? Here is our suggestion for the
week.Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos. If you have a family favorite, quick and easy week
night meal idea, please email us and we will share it.

The annual Christmas Bazaar is quickly approaching! We will have a planning meeting on
Sunday, October 6th at 4pm in Father Sullivan Hall. This is also a great time to drop off
your unopened toys and unused gift cards. We are also looking for help with soliciting big
ticket raffles. Do you have a contact at a hotel/motel at the shore who would give us a
discount on a weekend stay or do you (or a family member) own a vacation home and would
be willing to donate a weekend to IHM? Do you have season tickets to the Eagles, Flyers,
Union or Phillies and are willing to donate your tickets to a game? Do you want to donate
tickets to a concert, the Orchestra, Symphony, a musical? Are you interested in being a
table lead or volunteering, please contact Bridget at : [email protected]
We are also collecting some items for the Bazaar….
Decorative baskets and boxes for raffles
Square tissue boxes

hand drawn).
