Illegal Immigration

Why do people choose to immigrate to

other countries?

There are many reasons why people choose to immigrate to other

countries. Many of these things we as Americans take for

granted due to the fact that it is a given opportunity. Reasons

such as: Political freedom, Economic opportunities, Education,

and Religious freedom

Quote:~ Remember, remember always, that all of us, and

you and I especially, are descended from immigrations and

revolutionists. ~ -F.D.R

-

Statistics: More than 13million people in this world are illegal

immigrates.

Over 75% on the 113billion dollars used for illegal immigration

is absorbed by the U.S.

1.4 million Mexican immigrate household are on welfare

What is Immigration?

Immigration is the movement

of non-native individuals into

a country in order to settle

there.

What is illegal immigration?

Illegal immigration is the

movement of non-native

individuals that settle in

another country without the

possession of citizenship

papers.

What are some causes of

illegal immigration?

Because so many aren’t able

to afford all the tools it takes

to become anus citizen,

people choose to go the illegal

route. Many also lack the

patience of becoming a U.S.

citizen. It takes 7 years to gain

citizenship if you are not a

natural born American. For

some that’s 7 years to long,

people are ready for a lifestyle

change immediately. That is

to live among the average

American as if they were one.

This is very risky ordeal

considering that if they were

to be caught without citizen

ship they could be facing

deportation.

United States of America

Why does the united states have the

Highest immigration rate in the world?

“In fact, 60,000 immigrants are fighting in the U.S. armed forces in Iraq and

Afghanistan today. Immigrants worked hard so that their children could

embrace the ever widening possibilities in our land. And over the centuries,

immigrants came to America from every part of the globe and made the

American dream. They

Created a nation that is the envy of the world.” Senator Ted Kennedy

History

It is believe that the American territory was first occupied by

Native Americans since prehistoric times. The United States

gain independence from Great Britain in the year 1776. The

Independence of the country marks the beginning of what was to be a world superpower later in

history. The United States started with just 13 colonies in the East, but littler by little it span

bushing aside Native Americans and Mexico. Slavery was banished in the North but not on the

South. The Country enters to a civil war between the South and the North, with the defeat of the

South the United States Abolished Slavery. The first 48 states were admitted by 1912. Alaska

and Hawaii were admitted later on by 1959. The United States fought on WWI and WWII.

During the WWII the country created a Nuclear weapon and drops it on Japan. Thanks to the

coming of millions of European Immigrants the United States became a industrialized power in

the 20th

century.

20 % of the world immigration lives in the US. Immigrants make 13% of United States population. 115 million immigrants live in developed countries. Women constitute approximately half of all immigrants

around the world. Mexicans constitute 28.5 % of all foreign born in the United

States. If immigration keeps increasing at the same rate, the

Case study from the United States

How are immigrants doing in the USA?

Students are being denied the opportunity of higher

education because of a lack of a social security number.

The problems include the high cost of college, the denial

of In-State tuition, and the denial to file for FAFSA (Free

Application for Federal Student Aid.) Never less, a broken

immigration system that does not fix the problem for the

good or bad of those Immigrants. However, all this

problems have a long time known Solution.

The government should work together with organizations

and affected immigrants, to reach a solution that benefits

both parts. In the last ten years the government has been

debating a way to help those students. The debate has been

about, the DREAM act, a piece of legislation that offer a

path way to citizenship. This will be the perfect way to

help

Those students achieve higher education. The solution to

help many families that are being hurt by the broken

immigration system; is by providing a amnesty. In such a

amnesty, they will need to meet certain requirements like

speak English, Pay a fine, have been a good citizen and,

Pay taxes. In this way the government will receive money

to help the hurt economy. Also, give a relief to those

people. Never less, the government should create some

kind of system so that the problem does not kept on

happening like it has been happening since the amnesty of

1985.

MEET NATALY MEDRANO

Nataly was born in Leon,

Guanajuato, Mexico. When she

was 13 she immigrated to the

Unites States with her parents.

This represents the hardest part

of her life. She started school

two weeks after her arrival. She

did not speak any English and

friends were not so friendly. “I

will wake up everyday, with a

heavy load on my back. I did not

know if when I got back from

school my parents will be there

or something will happen to

them. That is my biggest fear

even knows.” She started high

school, with the biggest emotion

doing her best everyday, to get

good grades and trying to be

involved. College is always in

her mind. Senior year came, and

she discovers that things are not

easy for the students in her

condition. “I wish that people

understand my pain, and support

the DREAM act, which is the

only way out.” Like Nataly there

are many students with

capacities and intelligence that

are being tossed out because of a

social. She explain how hard is

to live with the idea of not

knowing what to expect for the

next day. Nataly’s family never

know if someone will be back at

house or not. Nataly has been

accepted to college. Her

dream is education. Her

biggest fear it what is

happening.

Page 6: Immigration

What should the

government be doing to keep the

illegal immigrants out of the

United States of America?

I believe that the

government should keep the

boards closed off to any person

who does not have a United

States of America citizenship. I

also believe that any person here

illegally should be sent back to

their home country and should

have to face criminal charges as

well as not be allowed to be

considered for a United States

citizenship.

How many people in Indiana are here as illegal immigrants?

Statistics for Indiana

About 34% of

Indiana’s foreign-

born population is

from Mexico, with

29% coming from

Asia and Oceania, and

22% coming from

Europe and Canada.

The three largest

groups of immigrants

come from China,

India and Mexico.

More than the

100,000 found in the

state in 2008.

An estimated 120,000

illegal immigrants in

2009.

What has immigration done for our country?

Illegal immigration has always been a problem for the United States. Now the cities that have the largest population of third world immigrants living in their cities have contributed the most to unemployment. Since the third world countries have been coming to the United States forty percent more people are living in poverty. Immigrants now represent more than one in every ten United States homes and now is the highest percentage in the past seventy years. The majority of immigrants entering the US are from third world countries. Mexico alone accounts for 27.7 percent of immigrants. Now the estimated Mexican immigrants in America are more than eight million. The American school dropout rate is so high because of the third world countries immigrants that are here are so set in their way of their old countries. Mexico has an illiteracy rate of ten percent. Worst of all Guatemala has an illiteracy rate of more than forty percent.
