The Savoy The iconic Savoy Hotel in London is the venue for this year’s IMPA Annual Dinner, which takes place on September 10 in the Lancaster Ballroom. As one might expect, The Savoy is steeped in history having celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2014. Most notable among its history is the 2005 purchase by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin AbdulAziz Alsaud. In 2007 The Savoy closed for the first time in its history to undergo a £220m refurbishment, reopening for business in 2010.
The IMPA Annual Dinner will be held in the Lancaster Ballroom, the largest of The Savoy’s banqueting rooms. It is one of London’s prime locations for receptions, weddings and was also the setting for one of the final scenes in the film Notting Hill.Designed by René Sergeant after an 18th century Parisian salon, the Lancaster Room officially opened in December 1910. Anna Pavlova danced here as part of the entertainments at a costume ball held a year or so later, and it soon became the venue of choice in London.
