Apparo + Bank of America's support has been “alifesaver” as The Learning Collaborative deliversvirtual support to the at-risk children and familiesthey serve. The Learning Collaborative preschool is currently closedbecause of the pandemic, but they have been able todevelop a strategy to continue the learning for the at-riskchildren they serve, TLC@home. Teachers are using online tools like Class Dojo and Zoommeetings to have real-time read-alouds, sing-alongs, andother activities to bring the TLC lesson plans home andparents are very enthusiastic. This was made possible in part thanks to an earlier projectwhere Apparo volunteers from Bank of America, whichalso sponsored the project, helped TLC standardize theirhardware + software. READ MORE

Past Projects Enabling Nonprofits to Navigate the CrisisWe've been stressing the importance of moving to the cloud and implementing work-from-home procedures that allowfor work-from-anywhere flexibility long before the pandemic hit. Fortunately, many nonprofits were on board before itwas a government-mandated move. And now? They are doing alright. Here are a couple examples:

Joe Martin ALS Foundation thanks Apparo + CapTechfor past support, which is “more important than ever”today, as they work to fulfill their mission in a new, remote environment amidst the pandemic. In 2013, the Joe Martin ALS Foundation (JMALSF) reachedout for a solution to deliver online educational content toALS caregivers (“CALS”). Apparo matched JMALSF with avolunteer team from CapTech Consulting, who alsogenerously sponsored this project. The team created an interactive virtual experience throughwhich CALS could receive the education and training theyneed to support their loved ones with ALS. Today, thatexperience is delivered via YouTube (with some videoshaving more than 40,000 views), but the fundamentalcontent from this project is still in place. READ MORE
