3FY19 IMPACT REPORT

Alumni and friends who give to Wichita State typically focus on areas they feel passionate about. It might be the fine arts, education, athletics or any combination of these and many other fields.

But at the heart of your giving is a sense of pride. You are proud of the university’s rich history of academic excellence and athletic prowess. You appreciate what WSU has done and is doing for your own lives. And you want future Shockers to benefit from the same types of experiences.

This past year has provided multiple examples of the spirit that will sustain and grow Wichita State for generations to come. Many of you gave generously to help complete the campaign to build a new home for the W. Frank Barton School of Business. Groundbreaking is expected in mid 2020. Or you contributed to the successful campaign to build a new Student-Athlete Success Center and renovate parts of Charles Koch Arena.

These were two of the top priorities of the Shock the World Campaign, which will end next June 30. We’ll have much to cheer about then, when the final campaign numbers are tallied.

For now, we celebrate the gifts you have made to increase scholarship support for hundreds of students, give our faculty additional resources and position our university for future success.

This report provides our financial outcomes for the period from July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019. We hope you also enjoy learning more about some of the wonderful gifts made during this period. We deeply appreciate your ongoing support.

With Shocker pride,

DEAR SHOCKERSUPPORTER:

ELIZABETH H. KINGPresident & CEOWSU Foundation

DEBBIE HAYNESChair, Board of DirectorsWSU Foundation
