Key Questions to Start Your AI JourneyIn our experience, an AI solution can often be implemented smoothly with minimal impact to internal resources, and in a relatively short amount of time. While your first AI solution can be daunting, having the right plan and partner can ensure your launch is successful.

With that in mind, the following is a list of best practice questions to ask yourselves, your internal stakeholders and your AI implementation partner.

Identify Your ObjectivesThink about areas in your organization where an individual

or a team is spending a great amount of administrative time.

Your AI solution can not only save this time, but complete

these tasks with 100% accuracy, each and every time. In

addition, if you have background processes that require

human input, your AI can run these tasks as soon as

they’re ready, so work continues through the night and on

the weekends.

� Do you have high-volume, repetitive tasks that require

a great deal of accuracy?

� Do you have tasks that can be done 24/7 regardless of

business hours?

� Do you have a task that requires inputs from multiple

sources before it can be resolved?

Know the EnvironmentWhen considering the benefits of an AI solution, it can be

easy to identify who will be impacted the most or directly

in their day-to-day roles. However, it’s important to know

the far-reaching effects as well. For example, if time and

cost savings are a high motivation for pursuing AI, then

your finance leaders have a vested interest. There also may

be a need to educate key decision makers who may not be

familiar with how an AI works or why it is valued.

� Have you identified the decision makers within your

organization regarding AI implementation?

� Do you need to educate stakeholders within your

organization on AI and its benefits?

� Are there internal fears or concerns that need to be

addressed prior to AI implementation?

� Do you need to clearly document the business case

for an AI?

Rally the Resources NeededIn most cases, implementing your first AI solution

should not impact your technical staff in a significant

way. However, you do need to have a dedicated internal

support team your AI partner can work with through

the launch and after. You also should consider any staff

outside of your IT department that may need to be part

of your AI support team.

� Have you communicated your business motives

and reasoning for AI with your stakeholders?

� Do your decision makers know what level of effort

is needed to implement an AI solution?

� Do you have a sandbox-testing environment

available for your systems, tools and data?

The Art of the PossibleDue to the pace of technology and breadth of artificial

intelligence, there is a seemingly endless list of

problems an AI can solve. Of course, the more complex

the problem, the greater the effort is needed to get

your AI up and running. This is why it’s best to start with

simple and clear problems, and then ramp up over time.

In looking forward, here are additional in-depth
