In the next slides I will show how to download and install the map in Locus Map, which is the map viewer I would currently recommend. Why?

● The developer created a very easy way to import third-party map data directly in the map viewer, as I will show in the next slides.

● It is the only viewer I know of that supports the UTF grid. This means that it can show additional information about the vegetation, e.g., for your current location or a location you indicate on the map.

If you have the Locus map Pro version, you can overlay the map with other maps, using various ways to combine them (blend modes)

For example, you can combine it with the Google terrain layer and use the Multiply blend mode

Another viewer I know to offer an overlay function and works with mbtiles is OruxMap.

And here is the result

Let's zoom in a bit to give you an impression how that looks like

If you are in the field, and make some observations that

can help us to improve the map, please let us know.

To record such observations, check what features are

available in your map viewer.

Locus for example allows you to create geo-references

notes, and attach pictures or other documents.

Similar features are available in map viewers like Oruxmap

and Geopaparazzi (both support our vegetation map

as well).
