ORDER:Certain students have requested the University to allow waiver of upto 8

credits for B.Tech. R09 batch as was done f<rr R05 & R07 batches (vide read.1).

The Standing Committee for Academic Senate has considered therequisition and made certain resolutions for B.Tech. courses belonging to RO9regulations, (vide rcad.2). Accordingly, the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor hasapproved and is p'leased to issue the orders with tJ e following resolutions forB.Tech. courses belonging to R09 regulationLs(vide read.3):

1. B.Tech. degree shall be awarded for the best 2L2 credits for regularstudents & for best 160 credits for lateral entrv students with thefollowing compulsory subjects:

i. All the practical subjectsii. Project work

2. With regard to exemption of upto B creidts for B.Tech. students,only the following cases are permitted:

(i) If the student passes in all subjects(both for regular & LES):The aggregate percenterge & class shall be awarded,excluding 2 theory subjects of 4 credits each, in which tJlestudent has secured lowest marks.

(ii) If the student fails in 2 theory subjects of 4 credits each{bothfor regular & LES):The aggregate percentage & class shall be awarded,excluding those 2 theory subjects in which the student hasfailed.

If the student fails in the theory subject of 6 credits (or) If thestudent fails in one theory subject of 6 credits & theseminar:The aggregate percentage and the class shall be awarded,excluding the subject in which the student has failed andthe seminar marks.

If the student fails in the Sieminar only:Regular Students: The aggregate percentage & class shallbe awarded, excluding o.ne theory subject of 6 credits inwhich the student has secured lowest marks.LES: The student shall have acquired 162 credits. However,for calculating the aggregate percentage & for awardingclass, the marks obtained in the best 160 credits shall beconsidered.

If the student fails in Seminar & one theory subject of 4credits:Regular Students: The student shall have acquired 214credits. However, for calculating the aggregate percentage &for awarding class, the marks obtained in the best 212credits shall be considered, excluding the seminar & the

i theory subject in which the cbndidate has failed.LES: The student shall hirve acquired 162 credits. However,for calculating the aggregate percentage & for awardingclass, the marks cibtained in the best L6O credits shall begonsidered, excluding the seminar & tl.e theory subject inwhich t]le candidate has trailed..

These orders shall come into force with immediate effect, subject toratification by M&DC of the University.
