Mr Michael Kelly Well done to all who assisted our school in completing the parental survey on Wednesday 30th July during Education Week (see below). This information will assist in the school’s planning for the future and will combine with a staff survey that has also occurred over the last few weeks. Again, my thanks to the hard working staff and parental group that makes MDPS the place it is - a place where high expectations are held for all. I’d like to think that every week is an “Education Week” at Mount Druitt Public.
Community Forum
Thank you to all the parents, families and caregivers that participated in the community forum last Wednesday during education week. The surveys that were filled out will be collated and presented to staff and teachers. Your suggestions and feedback are carefully considered and assist us in providing quality education to the students of Mount Druitt PS.
If you didn’t get the chance to fill out a survey and would like to provide your feedback, please see the office staff for a copy. Your opinions and suggestions are deeply valued and assist us in meeting the social, emotional and learning needs of your child.

Preschool Vegetable Garden
Last term the Preschool were lucky enough to receive a donation from Bunnings
Minchinbury for all the materials to create some vegetable gardens. Narelle from
Bunnings (who is also Oliver and James’ Aunty) came to Preschool and with the
children’s help planted gardens that we filled with lots of vegetables including
cabbage, lettuce, carrots, peas and chives.
The children have been busy watering and caring for our gardens and the
vegetables are growing very well.
Soon we will be able to pick them and make salads together for everyone to try!!
This will promote healthy eating and sustainability in the Preschool.
As the vegetables grew, the children transferred them to an even bigger garden
with the help of the educators.
Early Intervention Monday/Tuesday are exploring, learning and experimenting with colours.
This term we are focusing on primary colours. The children are starting to identify objects in
their environment that relate to the colour of the week. They are experimenting with their
own creative abilities through curiosity and engaging in activities such as painting, collage
and developmental play.

Kindergarten students have had special visitors this week. The students have been observing
and looking after chicks. The children have been very excited seeing them hatch and grow.
Many students and parents across the school have visited the chicks to share this fantastic
experience. KB have loved writing about their experiences.
1/2H have been learning about telling the time. We
are learning to read analogue and digital clocks! Look at how hard we work!
