IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS!

• The scheduling process for 2021-22 school year is not complete until online registration has been successfully completed which includes submitting all required documents. See the website for a complete list of required documents. The registration will begin May 1. Incomplete registration will result in your student’s schedule being dropped. To reinstate the schedule, online registration will need to be completed. Online registration must be done by July 26, 2021 in order for your child’s schedule to be available for Open House. Please keep in mind that if your student’s schedule is dropped, class selection is limited if student schedule has to be complete in July.

FAQ-Anyone who is in middle school gifted

automatically qualifies at high school.All students are eligible to take honors

courses.All students are eligible to take AP

language, that begins in 10th grade.

AP Courses All students are eligible to take AP courses. If a course

is full, students will be selected by grade/attendance/discipline issues.

Many high school students take advantage of the AP program each year. AP stands for Advanced Placement and allows students to take advanced courses in high school for college credit or advanced college standing upon entrance.

Please make sure students understand this is typically 1-2 hours of Homework per night some days and they must be willing to put in the time after school if they get behind.

Dual EnrollmentNO LONGER FUNDED FOR 9th GRADE.

9th & 10th Graders have the option to self pay for any DE courses offered to their grade level that is no longer funded. The cost of the tuition is $100 a credit hour ($300-$400 per class). If they are interested, then they may contact the DE office.

Math 4 units of Mathematics required, including:9th - Coordinate Algebra 10th - Analytic Geometry 11th - Advanced Algebra 12th - 4th Math (Pre-Calculus, College Readiness

Math, Mathematics of Finance, AP Statistics, DE College Algebra)

* Yearlong math is 1academic credit/1 elective credit for support* Students must take a math each year.

NOTE: If a student took year-long Coordinate Algebra that student MUST take year-long Analytic Geometry unless that student has approval from Mr. Cloud to take a semester long Geometry.

• Students may double up and take two math courses ONLY if they are planning to reach AP Calculus or AP Statistics as a senior. If students choose to double up, they must take Honors Math. Students must have a math their senior year.

• Math – Finance will not satisfy the fourth math requirement for colleges and universities. It is fine for technical colleges.

Graduation Rule

Requirements for Health/PE All students must complete 1 unit Every student needs to take this unless

enrolled currently in middle school. This will no longer be pre-selected on the

green registration form.

Green Registration Form and White Form

Registration Form (green copy) - 8th grade teachers pre-register their students for the 4* classes required for all 9th graders on the Green Registration Form. (or via google form)

Use an X for all Academics and electives, then A, B, C for the alternates.

*Verify if the student is currently taking PE/Health.

White copy is an exact copy of the green form provided to student/parents.

Registration Tips

Things to consider: Band and ROTC need to be enrolled in both semesters.

If Coor Algebra w/ support has been selected in conjunction with Coordinate Algebra YR. Please make sure these students are provided a letter.

Once students have opted out and decided on the classes, please highlight the 11 choices. Four academics, One PE/Health*, three top choice electives as well as three alternates.

Inform parents that are coming to registration night that registration should only take 15 minutes once they sit with a teacher.
