Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)

• 6 degrees of freedom (DOF)• Combines 3 accelerometers and 3

gyroscopes• Outputs 3 linear accelerations and

3 angular rates• Used for positioning

Attitude, Heading Reference Sensor (AHRS)

• Combines 3 accelerometers, 3 gyros and 3 magnetometers

• Outputs pitch, roll and yaw, Quaternion, orientation matrix

• Used for navigation • Include sensor fusion algorithms

Sensor calibration• calibration as this is the key to obtaining

the best performance out of the inertial sensors that we manufacture.

• Temperature calibration• Magnetometer accelerometer and

gyro calibration• the internal algorithm can estimate

some stochastic errors
