TCC Orchestra (Introductory Rate) NEWThe TCC Orchestra is a full performing ensemble including student and community musicians. This group rehearses weekly and gives at least one performance each quarter. The orchestra uses strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion instruments. Participants are expected to have fundamental skills in their instrument technique, and also be able to read standard music notation. Participants must audition prior to registration. France 1945-1959French intellectuals were at the forefront of the new postwar movements in social sciences, philosophy, and culture which sought to make sense of this transformed world and chart a course for the future. France 1960-1975The 60s were a time of unrest and protests by women, students and immigrants. A new generation of French writers, film makers and thinkers emerged. French Art 1945-1959The history of the later 20th century is one of turmoil, change and discord. This period’s emphasis on change carried over to the art world as well, stressing an artworks visual elements rather than its subject. Learn about artists such as Fautrier, Dubuffet, Giacometti, and Hélion. Many of these new stylistic movements in modernist art were distinguished by a complete absence of any concrete objective reference. French Art 1960-1975As France continues to recover from the war, new art movements evolved such as Nouveau Réalisme. Founded in 1960, this movement stressed the importance of the real and the modern consumer object and was similar to the Pop art movement in New York. Artists included Arman, Klein, Dufréne, and Saint Phalle. At the end of the course, students must successfully complete an open book exam. Certification is valid in Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho for three years. Students must be at least 18 years of age with current photo ID (State or Federally Issued ID or License, Military ID or Passport).
