    Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather

    and Great-Grandfather

Joe was born on November 21, 1938, to Clem and Frances Thiemann in Humboldt, SK. He was raised on the Thiemann farm, eight miles from St. Gregor, SK, and attended Sjolie School. Joe and Diana met in Bruno, SK, where he was working on installing the power lines. They were married on October 8, 1966, and moved to Cranbrook, BC, where Joe worked at a sawmill. About 1½ years later, Joe and Diana moved back to Saskatoon, and raised their two sons, Darren and Derrick. In Saskatoon, he studied and received his Red Seal Journeymen Automotive Technician Certificate. Joe’s passions in life included farming with his brother-in-law Tony; fixing vehicles, with some help, from his sons; curling; and most importantly, his family. Joe worked as an Automotive Technician with Imperial Oil for a number of years and eventually worked with the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Saskatoon, where he retired in 2003. In 2019, he was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and later, cancer. He spent time at St. Paul’s and City Hospital, eventually moving to Parkridge Centre Care Home, until his passing. The Thiemann family would like to thank the staff at Parkridge, for their excellent care for Joe.
