ANZAC DAY AND REMEMBRANCE DAY

• Anzac day is the 25th of April. It was to honour the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War 1.

• The Anzac spirit is a concept which suggests that Australian and New Zealand soldiers shared characteristics and the qualities these soldiers had was shown on the battlefield in World War I

Remembrance day• Remembrance Day, is a day we commemorate the soldiers in time of war, especially those in WW1. It is commemorated on the 11th November to recall the end of the war in 1918. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

• The association of the red poppy with battlefield deaths was a natural symbol to show resurrection and remembrance dates back to the Napoleonic Wars when poppies were the first plant to grow in the churned up soil of soldiers' graves in the area of Flanders. • Canadian Medical Officer, began the process by which the Flanders Poppy became immortalised worldwide as the symbol of remembrance
