SPIRAL SPRINGS
15
8/6/2019 In Plant Report
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/in-plant-report 16/47
A type of spring coiled in spiral form. These springs are used in such
applications where the object had to restore to its original position after
completing the operation. Like in Switchgears, Motorcycle kick-starters, etc.
WIRE SPRINGS
Cold formed wire product especially used as clips or clamps.
TENSION SPRINGS
16
8/6/2019 In Plant Report
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/in-plant-report 17/47
A tension spring is usually a closed coil helical spring containing energy to
resist a pulling force. The pulling force causes the coils to separate at a given rate. Included in therate is the variable-initial tension. Initial tension is the load necessary toovercome the internal forces, which holds the coils tightly together.
The amount of initial tension can be varied and should be determined prior to spring production.
Tension spring ends come in five basic types:
• Machine Hooks
• Crossover / Full Hooks• Side Hooks• Exrended Hooks• Special Hook
Tolerances for extension springs vary with each design. Variances in wire
and design result in tolerances for the following areas: Free length, (usually
measured from inside hook to inside hook), outside diameter, end alignment
of hooks, initial tension loads, and rates.
FUAL INJECTION SPRINGS
17
8/6/2019 In Plant Report
http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/in-plant-report 18/47
A precision compression spring used to control the movement of plunger that opens the valve, allowing the pressurized fuel tosquirt out through a tiny nozzle.
CLIENTS OF FUAL INJECTION SPRINGS
• Motor Industries Co. Ltd. (Bosch Group)
• Shriram Fuel Injection Ind. Ltd.
TORSION SPRINGS
A torsion spring is usually a closed coil helical spring with endsformed to provide torque when load is exerted on the ends.Depending on the application, torsion springs can be designed towork in a clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation. This workingrotation will determine the direction of the wind.
End configurations of torsion springs are limitless. Theapplication will determine how exotic the ends or tails need to be.The fewer bends the less tooling and machine time involved thusreducing the cost.

This department is important department in thiscompany. The material manager and the two assistants reportingto him manage this department.
1) Organization of this department –
2) Purchase Requisition / Indent –
The purchase requisition is the need items are notavailable from the stores department for the new items and this isrecording point. Purchase requisition fully described the quantity andquality of the needed items takes action. Another time’s “bill of materials” is list of all items, which are, required to complete one
specific order serves as a requisitioning document.
3) The Supplies ( Selection) –

After the need of the item has been recognized anddescribed., the attempts should be made to select the best source of the supply. This is the negative process in the sense that the list of thepotential supplier is required to select few. For the repetitive orders thebuying records of the previous suppliers are referred and the suppliesis selected on the basis of the satisfactory performance in the part.
In the absence of any existing supplier the procedure for the selection of the supplier would be slightly different. It is the usualpractice of the buyer to maintain an up to date list of potential supplier. The information about the supplier is available from the directories, advertisement in the trade journals by the supplier. Out of the givensources a short list of the appropriate supplier should be selected. They may be asked for their quotation of price, delivery and other
terms and condition.
a) Catalogue Price –
The standard terms generally the catalogue and price list areprepared by supplier which are applicable to all type of buyers.
b) otiated Price Neg –
The price haggling better the supplier and buyer. It is techniqueand good buyer can use for the benefit of the organization.
c) Placing the Purchase Order –
After the selection of the supplier the order is placed with him.The standard purchase order specification the supplier name datespecification of the item quantity required the price and other relevantterms. The material manager signs it.
d) Follow Up the Order –
The materials at right time and right place are the importantingredients of effective purchasing. Simply the placing of order with thesuppliers does not ensure that the materials will be made availablewhere they are wanted. Fallow ups order is considered. It is not
20

necessary to change all type of purchase order. This procedure tries tosee that the purchase order is confirmed by the supplier and delivery topremised. e) Receiving Materials –
The store department receives the material supplied by thevendor. It is the duty of the purchase department to verify and to tallythe quality of materials. The receipt of the material is recorded on thegoods received report, which also specify the name of vendor and thepurchase order. It also records any discrepancy-damaged condition of the materials. A copy of the receiving report is send to the purchasedepartment.
f) Payment of the Invoice –
The goods are received in a satisfactory condition, the invoiceis checked to see that the goods where duty authorized to purchase, they are property ordered and priced. The quality and quantity order confirm to the order, correct calculation etc. this duty is accordingdepartment to make the payment in time.
g) Maintenance of the Records –
Maintenance of the record is important part of the purchase
department. This department recorded is the purchase order and past record in
book of account.
