Rri6/Dated- 18-08-2017 PRESS NOTE ALL-INDIA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX NUMBERS FOR AGRICULTURAL AND RURAL LABOURERS - JULY, 2017 1. The All-India Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers (Base: 1986-87:100) for the month of July, 2017 increased by 7 points and 6 points to stand at 884 (Eight hundred and eighty four) and 890 (Eight hundred and ninety) points respectively. 2. The rise/fall in index varied from State to State. In case of Agricultural Labourers, it recorded an increase between 2 to 18 points in 19 States while it remained stationary in Kamataka State. Karnataka with 1051 points topped the index table whereas Bihar withT}l points stood at the bottom. 3. In case of Rural Labourers, it recorded an increase between 2 to l7 points in 19 States while it recorded a decrease of I point in Kamataka State. Kamataka with 1039 points topped the index table whereas Bihar State with725 points stood at the bottom. 4. The Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers of Himachal Pradesh State registered the maximum increase of 18 & 17 points respectively mainly due to rise in the prices of wheat-atta, ghee, vegetables & fruits, sugar, gur , tea readymide, cigarette, ke.osene oil, shirting cloth cotton(mill), medicine and washing soap. The Consumer Price Indix Numbers for Rural Labourers of Karnataka State however witnessed a decrease of I point mainly due to fall in the prices ofrice, pulses, groundnut, pan leafand firewood. 5. Point to point rate of inflation based on the CPI-AL and CPI-RL decreased from 0.92oh and 1.14% in hsne, 2017 to 0.80% and 1.02%o respectively in July, 2017. Inflation based on food index for Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers was at (-) I .05% and (-) l.l6%respectively in July, 2017 . 6. All-India Consumer Price Index Number (General & Group-wise) The cPI - AL/kLfor August, 2017 will be released on 20th septeinber, 2017. PRESS NOTE

ALL-INDIA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX NUMBERS FOR AGRICULTURAL ANDRURAL LABOURERS - JULY, 2017

1. The All-India Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Rural Labourers(Base: 1986-87:100) for the month of July, 2017 increased by 7 points and 6 points to stand at 884(Eight hundred and eighty four) and 890 (Eight hundred and ninety) points respectively.

2. The rise/fall in index varied from State to State. In case of Agricultural Labourers, it recordedan increase between 2 to 18 points in 19 States while it remained stationary in Kamataka State.Karnataka with 1051 points topped the index table whereas Bihar withT}l points stood at the bottom.

3. In case of Rural Labourers, it recorded an increase between 2 to l7 points in 19 States while itrecorded a decrease of I point in Kamataka State. Kamataka with 1039 points topped the index tablewhereas Bihar State with725 points stood at the bottom.

4.
