Open Classrooms

Classes will be open from 4.30pm - 6.30pm on Tuesday 16 September for your child/ren to share with you, the work they have done in class. Make sure you mark this date in your calendar.

Student Performance

Directly following the Open Classrooms, students from year one to seven will perform three items they have been rehearsing during term three. This will be held on the stage in the undercover area at 6.30pm. It would be fantastic if as many students as possible could come along and join in with their groups item. We hope lots of family members will stay to see students work and enjoy some of the amazing talent we have at Narrogin Primary School.

Numeracy Activities

Monday 25 August - Friday 29 August was 'Literacy and Numeracy Week'. All the Pre-Primary to Year 7 students took part in a 'Daily Math Challenge' . It was encouraging to see so many of our students participating.

This week, all the Pre-Primary to Year 7 students will take part in a 'World of Maths' incursion on Tuesday (Yr 5 – 7) or Thursday (PP – Yr 4). This promises to be very interesting and engaging. The Daily Challenge winners will be announced at this week's assembly.

Behaviour Expectations - Week 8

This week the school expectation is “co-operation”. Cooperation is working together for the good of everyone. It is a willingness to respect others and to follow rules which keep everyone safe and happy. Cooperation is being helpful to one another, sharing the load. It is joining others in order to do something that cannot be done alone.

Yesterday 2Mc and 1/2B visited Dryandra as part of their History and Geography program. Mr Kickett showed us lots of traditional ways to use Grass trees and how to look for possum nests. We all enjoyed the walk to the Ochre Pit and having our faces painted. Many thanks to Mrs Conlan, Mrs Beresford and Mr Kickett for helping. It was a fantastic day and the behaviour of the students was AWESOME.

This year’s Spring Festival theme is Party, Party, Party and each of our classes has chosen their own party theme to celebrate. I would love to have as many of our students as possible participating in the event. Parents and younger siblings are also very welcome to dress up and come along.

2014 Spring Festival Street Parade

Saturday 25th October

We will Marshall on Glyde Street at 10.30am for an 11.15am start.

Parade route: Right out of Glyde, left into Fortune, left into Earl, left into Williams Rd,

then around park again, then right into Glyde (This is subject to change.)

I know some of you see ‘dress-up’ and bang your head against a wall. I definitely do not want this to become an expense or an issue for you. Please don’t feel as though you have to go out and buy cos-tumes or accessories. If you want to provide a costume or make something creative as a family project that would be great. If you want some help or advice in designing a costume I am always available. We have some costumes and props being created in class and if you are having trouble we will be able to find something suitable.

1A and 1S Pool Party

1/2B Random Party Items – ie presents, cupcakes, party hats.

Students could dress in their favourite party clothes.

2M Despicable Me

3M Frozen

3/4C Dance Party

4C Lego Party

5F Mad Hatters Tea Party (Alice in Wonderland Theme)

6/7 B 70’s Party

6/7 M Halloween

6/7 H Nerd Party

Please fill in the form below and return it to me as soon as possible if you are attending, so that I have an idea of numbers.

Thank-you

Cindy Tyler-Tourle
