It’s my pleasure to congratulate you on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan which Allah, the Almighty, has privileged specifically as it is the month in which Allah, the Almighty, revealed the Holy Qur’an to His prophet Muhammad (PBUH); in addition, He has allotted in this holy month Al-Qadr Night – night of fate– which is better than one thousand months.

Spirits also dispel loathing and sins in this month as it is the season of diligent work and worship since Muslim people struggle their spirit to increase their worship to be much closer to Allah, the Almighty; moreover, it is a profitable opportunity to bestow mercy, intimacy, devotion and solidarity among individuals.

Thus, we bid you, as we are preparing to receive this holy month, to utilize this grant to bolster bridges of communication, intimacy and the one family spirit which will help achieve numerous ambitions we definitely seek to accomplish.

This spirit will also enable us to move ahead in spite of difficulties and big challenges that the oil sector confronts. These challenges are embodied in supporting systems and programs on which the 2030 strategy basically relies to guarantee the best implementation of the strategy pursuant to Kuwait’s ambitions that aim to increase the productivity of crude oil.

This helps further establish an industrial edifice of which Kuwait’s generations will be proud; in addition to fortifying the country’s status internationally as one of the most important oil producing counties all over the world.

Finally, as we are to receive this holy month, we hope Allah, the Almighty, to enable the oil sector to celebrate it next time when we are more capable of carrying out the ambitious visions of our beloved Kuwait.

After a few days, we will re-ceive a month which Allah, the Almighty, has glorified with the holy Qur’an; therefore it has become the most magnificent month round the year. It is the holy month of Ramadan which is venerated by Muslim people as it is distinguished with lots of spiritual activities and worship-ping; in addition, good deeds are doubled during it.

In spite of the glorious status of the holy month of Ramadan, some of us utilize it wrongfully to hide behind laziness, procras-tination and absence from work forgetting deliberately that Al-lah, the Almighty, requests us to achieve our work precisely; thus He has mentioned this bid in sev-eral verses of the holy Qur’an; in addition, He has given pref-erence to those who work seri-ously and actively.

Some of us also forget our prophet Muhammad’s – Peace Be Upon Him – (PBUH) instruc-tions in this domain since he said, “Ramadan is a superb

month in which Allah, the Al-mighty, doubles good deeds and eliminates sins. He, Allah, lifts Muslims’ deeds to heaven as well during Ramadan; more-over, Allah forgives the sins of a Muslim person who gives alms and treats well his wives.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said it is the month of bless-ings and repentance as well as forgiveness. It is the month of winning Paradise and avoiding Hell; therefore, our prophet has advised us to evade committing sins and bad deeds. He also bid us to recite as much as we can the holy Qur’an and to beseech Allah, the Almighty, to answer our supplications and needs. He has also urged us to favor this month due to its special status as it is specifically privileged oth-er than the remaining months.

Consequently, this month must be a month of determination and activeness in work and worship since most employees, during this holy month, achieve unfortunately their duties reck-

lessly leaning on the plea that they are fasting despite the fact that working hours in Rama-dan are less than their normal rates round the year. Regretta-bly, some of those employees consider that going to office is merely a way to pass time wait-ing for breakfast.

Thus, we have to ask ourselves; does breakfast contradict really with work?

However, the low quality in per-formance during Ramadan is due to behaviors of some employees not fasting as the latter’s posi-tive results are very profitable for Muslims materially and im-materially.

Accordingly, sincere Muslim has to prioritize matters of Hereaf-ter as it is stated in our Sharia –Islamic law – which eggs us on exerting efforts to gain more good deeds. Moreover, fasting Ramadan provokes our senses to feel poor people’s agony and suffering in an aim to bolster solidarity among all the society’s

groups; the matter will help in-crease the economic level which will create an economic and so-cial balance among the society’s various groups.

Therefore, Muslim has to finalize his duties perfectly, sincerely and accurately to prove his honesty and devotion at work; however, to achieve this goal, he has to follow the following directives:

• The employee should go to work and leave on time.

• The employee has to achieve his duties perfectly irre-spective of fasting since it strengthens the Muslim’s per-severance, patience and will.

• The employee should not busy himself doing anything other than achieving his du-ties honestly.

• To utilize this holy month in improving relations with those he had some trouble with them.

We finally beseech Allah, the Al-mighty, to accept your worship.

It is an invitation for free to one of Kuwait’s restau-rants or a coupon through which the employee can purchase goods from a company or commercial su-perstores.What are the objectives of apply-ing this card? The corporation seeks through ap-plying this system to spur the em-ployees to exert more efforts and eminent devotion in performing their duties. It also aims to refresh the immaterial spirit among person-nel; in addition to improving the lev-els of performance and productivity at work.Who has the power of granting this card? In the beginning of each financial year, a certain number of cards is al-lotted to each official in accordance with the career level. Consequently, we will high-light some basic tips of safety while dealing with domestic products:

1. We should read the precau-tions labeled on the prod-uct if it is available or check with the concerned referee of the product.

with them to secure the safety of the society’s individuals.

While we were investigating in fire cases whether there are haz-ardous substances available in the house, people said directly “No”; yet their answer reflects their lack of full awareness of hazardous chemical substances available in their houses; accord-ingly we have opted to underline in this article some consumable substances in our houses such as the following:

1. Hair spray

2. Deodorant

3. Nail polish

4. Nail de-polisher

5. Bathroom detergents

6. Furniture polisher

Believing in the necessity of spreading awareness among the society’s individuals about the protective procedures required in dealing with chemical sub-stances inside the house, we have opted to improve the skills and knowledge of citizens and expatriates to eliminate reasons lead to accidents.

Many people have known that chemical substances are used in several industries; in addition, man has been obligated to deal with such substances inside the house; thus, he can use them irrespective of committing to safety procedures.

For example, he, by mistake, mixes these substances with one another that may lead to complicated chemical reactions that can harm persons’ health especially children who are not aware of these substances’ haz-ard; as a result, they may easily sustain injuries or be poisoned.

As specialists in such activities, we have to clarify the hazards of such substances and how to deal

3. Use domestic products of low hazard and more safe-ty.

4. While using chloride or acid cleansing substances, do not mix them with water, or use as little as water with them; in addition, the place should be ventilated well to get rid of harmful vapors. In fact, the A/C is not enough to air the place; therefore it is necessary to open win-dows and doors for enough time.

5. Do not store domestic haz-ardous chemical products beside foodstuffs.

Therefore, these substances should be collected in special containers properly. Moreover, we bid Kuwait Municipality to launch an intensive awareness campaign and generalize it all over the six governorates to spread such awareness among citizens and residents; in addi-tion to allocating a container in each area to collect the un-desirable substances to expose of them. It is preferable to color these containers to easily recog-nize them.

It is advisable to keep the im-portant telephone numbers of hospitals’ emergencies which can provide quick first aid in case there is a poisoning case to protect yourself and your family members.

6. Evade eating, drinking or smoking while using haz-ardous product.
