CHAPTER DIRECTOR MESSAGE
Hi Fellow K2 Wingers.
We're excited about the upcoming K2 Country Rally and it will be here
soon. Need everybody’s support and participation for the rally. We
pre-registered many and expect more to register at rally. We will have
vendors with different type of products and services. Let’s not forget
our 3 GRAND PRIZES!
Our first Tuesday dinner came out well. We had seven members
attend at Bill Millers. We will continue to meet on Tuesday’s to have a
dinner. Our second dinner also went well. Eight members met at
Sammy’s. Look at calendar and website for next Tuesday’s meeting
place. Want to thank the visitors we had in our last Gatherings. The
Lozano family, Melody that couldn't make it but wanted to attend.
She should be picking her bike up and riding with us soon. She did
ride in cage with us to Pleasanton along with Mike E., Donna, ACD
Armando, Pat and I.
Our monthly Car Show event was a success we signed up one person
to attend the Rally and possibly join our chapter. We will have a great
time at the K2 first annual picnic on September 4th in Mico, TX at Joe’s
Place.
West Texas trip is coming up very soon hope all y'all got your lodging
already lined up. The park was packed and could not get in.
Observatory was still open if you need a number call me I will give it
to you. (Continued next page)

FROM THE ASSISTANT CHAPTER DIRECTOR
This month I am enroute to Wing Ding in Billings, Montana via a shortcut thru
Lacey, Washington. I left on Saturday the 20th riding in the rain up 173 to
Kerrville then to Junction where the rain finally let up. Made my way up the
panhandle to Amarillo where I spent the first night. Sunday started out clear
and cool as I traveled north into New Mexico and through Denver Colorado
and up to Cheyenne WY where I spent the 2nd night. The scenery was flat
and kinda bland. I was fortunate with traffic as it was very light even thru
Denver.
Most of the ride was kicked back with cruise control set at the speed limits. It
started out cool 44 degrees out of Wyoming until Utah where it warmed up to
90 degrees. The scenery here got better as I entered the canyons and made
my way north to Ogden, by passing Salt Lake City. I spent the night just north
of Ogden.
Enjoyed a very good Mexican meal, not tex-mex. I continued northwest on
Hwy 84 thru Boise Idaho and into Oregon. 84 along the Columbia River was
the most scenic of the whole ride. I stopped in Baker City, Oregon and was
able to walk around the old downtown area. Unfortunately, it was after 5
and most of the historical buildings were closed. I was able to bypass the
traffic in Portland and arrived in Lacey, next to Olympia WA. I met up with my
son Alex in the evening.
We will be leaving for Wing Ding in the morning, Sunday and make our way
thru Idaho in Montana. We plan to arrive Tuesday. I’ll send pictures from Wing
Ding. See everyone in September.

K2 SPOTLIGHT
“RICHARD FLACK”
Started riding around age 12. Owned over 9 bikes from
Honda, Harley, Indian and BMW.
Some of my longest rides have been from Illinois to Texas
Coast (Corpus Christi).
I’ve raced in the Hills of Denver with my Harley. Going up
them Hills and also falling down. Also been in many
motorcycle races. Especially being with the Police
Department in chases.
My wife Esther of 39 years loves to ride just as much as me.
Maybe even more.
“Keep the rubber on the road and the shiny side up”
Wats up K2? I couldn’t wait to eat more PIZZA..PIZZA..PIZZA. I had to help make a whole lot of packets for our Rally at Pizza Hut and got to eat again. ”COWABUNGA” the Rally is almost here.
We also got together at Bill Millers on Tuesday afternoon. No Pizza but brisket and chicken had to do. Oh I did wash it down with ice tea, but no PIZZA anywhere. Will keep on hunting for PIZZA.
I just love going on all the rides. We went up for breakfast towards Floresville when it started raining. The rain took Mike E., Melody, Donna, Armando, Pat and Michael into IHOP for breakfast.
Took a ride out to Kerrville and got to see and stand next to large rocks. Stonehedge II Magical and Mysterious. A must see to believe.
But no PIZZA. Gotta go get my stomach settled…before more PIZZA.
See you Saturday at Joe’s Place, Mico, TX for Chapter Picnic.

What about lights? Lights on our
bikes. Now we have lights that
help us see at night, give others
where we are turning, when we
are stopping and of course here
we are lights. The last one the
here we are lights are running
lights that are always on and
some of us have additional
lights that make people go
wow, neat, and oooooh.
To be able to see the road we
might add some driving lights to
our bike. The directional lights
now have the ability to flash
from inside your side mirrors like
automobiles have. Let’s not
forget the mirror light in your
trunk so you can fix your helmet
hair. So if you add all these lights
on your bike I would say your
chances of being seen at night
have increased.
My little reminder is I'm all for
more lights but is your bike
battery ready for it. I would hate
to be riding and not see you
because your battery drained
and was not able to charge
quickly enough. So check those
lights and have fun riding and
remember more lights attract
attention and bugs at night.
Thanks to

Country Fair Funnel Cake INGREDIENTS
2 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
1 Cup Water
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla
3 Cups Flour
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 Tlb. Baking Powder
1/4 Tsp. Salt
Oil for Deep-Frying
10X Sugar
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, water and vanilla until well blended. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; beat into egg mixture until smooth. In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°.
Cover the bottom of a funnel spout with your finger; ladle 1/2 cup of batter into the funnel. Holding the funnel several inches above the skillet, release your finger and move the funnel in a spiral motion until all the batter is released (scraping with a rubber spatula if needed).
Fry for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve warm. Yield: 8 cakes.
