In what ways does your media product

use, develop or challenge forms

and conventions of real media products

Well, as a young girl, in the age of Twilight, I would obviously be stating that my main product uses and develops forms and conventions of Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. However, it also uses, develops and challenges other music videos, through its style.

I will be comparing and contrasting how I've used, challenged and developed.

The inspiration…

Twilight Saga, this biggest pediment to take over millions of young girls hearts.

My music video shows the CLASSIC love story, which includes a break up, and is apparent that it is strongly influenced by Twilight: New Moon. It follows the turmoil of a young girl.

First and mainly…Twilight

As shown from the pictures above I incorporated this image from the Twilight novels into my music video.

However, the Classic Hollywood love story has no new equilibrium, it ends with a final strike, and dramatic end to the relationship which she thought she could still have. Yet, there is sort of a new equilibrium, despite being small. It is that she has full understanding and knowing of why the breakup occurred. Which does leave satisfaction to the audience, although not the perfect ending in which the emotions crave for.

it. I realised that, because I haven't seen it in ages, that there are some aspects that are really similar to my music video.

Mainly it is that of the setting, and I feel like the style of it is similar to mine. It simple and contains fast editing during the fast paces, which is like mine, at the end of my music video in which we call the Running Scene.

Comparing with other videos…

There is also the sense of a very similar ending to this music video by Furthest Drive Home. He is left, too late to get to the one he loves.

In my music video, she is left, as well, with nobody, only herself and the feeling of understanding.

5 Years Time by Noah and the Whale, an Indie/Folk band. This music is very indie/folk in its

style. It uses special effects and consists of a good narrative and the band is shown, which are some of the conventions of indie/rock genre music video.Although, I the structure of this music is simple, I think I developed it through using symbolic messages and through my editing, which I consider to me more effective in conveying the message.

During the research we looked at the best 100 music videos. Sinead O’Connor was the one that I really liked, and therefore I incorporated those close up of her music video for Nothing Compares To You, because it conveyed so much emotions and I knew this would be a useful technique to use.
