About the fund
• The fund aims to support the delivery of local recycling communication campaigns
• Recycle Now strategy supports the 50% recycling target
• Refreshed Recycle Now template materials
• Item-specific materials
• Focus on recycling around the home
About the fund
• The fund applies to projects in England only, with the exception of London
• Resource London: 07827 896150
• £30,000 to £50,000 per project
Working with partners
• You must have a partner in place before applying

• 50% match funding per application
Service requirements
• 30,000 households• kerbside collections• recycling rate must fall below 42.8% • compliant with the separate collections
regulations• dry recycling or food waste recycling projects• if food, it must be collected separately from
garden waste• tie in with quarterly platforms
Communications materials
• Must use the refreshed Recycle Now materials
Projects in scope for potential funding
• New or extensions to existing communication • Radio adverts, local press coverage, social
media, video production• Posters and bus backs• Roadshow events • Additional staff resources associated with
delivery • Some flexibility for retailers/brands• Funding must be spent by 31 March 2016 • Communications that complement service
changes or increase tonnage from existing schemes
Projects out of scope
• Costs or overheads for existing staff for Business as Usual activities (BAU)
• Projects focussing on significant numbers of flats• Capital expenditure• Day-to-day running costs • Items or services paid for prior to agreement• Activities already planned and budget allocated including
staff resources• Projects outside England and in London• Projects that will be delivered after 31 March 2016 with
the exception of glass and metal• Projects not able to provide the specified monitoring data
for evaluation

• Plastics – Autumn 2015• Paper and card – Winter 2015• Metal and glass – Spring 2016• Food – Summer 2016
• Tie in with at least one platform
• Food is an exception

• Data monitoring and evaluation
• Report back to WRAP 4 months after the end date of the campaign.
