Thirst Quenchers: SRD Matunga

FEEL

• We received information through an SMS, that Mumbai was going to touch 40 degrees and that animals and birds may die because of thirst. Hence, to help them, we wanted to put out water pots so they could drink freely.

• Headlines in newspapers said ‘Save Water,’ which further told us that we had to try our best to help everyone.

We tried to think of different ways of how we can help the birds face the heat.

DO

Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Care donated 320 water tubs worth Rs 11520/-We distributed them and tried raising awareness outside ‘Shri Sumatinath Bhagwan Derasar’

Seeing this initiative, people donated money; we received Rs. 5000/- which we donated back to Shrimad Rajchandra Animal Care.

We felt a sense of achievement when we visited a few buildings and noticed that the people actually used the water pots and birds came to drink water; thus preventing the birds from dehydration in the hot season.
