PHILOSOPHYFor more than 40 years, our practice has been based on an understanding that everything — all parts of a building, all aspects of a project, all aspects of a community and environment — are connected. In our architectural work we strive to reinforce this sense of connection at every level: by integrating every detail into the whole of the building, every building into its surroundings, and every project into its community. This philosophy infuses not only the architecture but also our design process, our interactions with
people, and the way our firm is run.
DESIGNOMR’s buildings celebrate daylight: filtering
in from windows and light monitors, reflecting
to illuminate ceilings, and penetrating the
center of buildings through atriums or glass
floors. Careful planning creates a sense of
order and clarity which orients you in your
surroundings. Transparency and layering
provide glimpses into other areas of the
building and out to the landscape beyond.
Meticulous detailing and use of materials
articulates the relationship of each element
to the whole.
COLLABORATIONCollaboration is a fundamental value of
our firm. By working together with owners,
clients and OPM’s as a team, we can
accomplish more than we could as
separate individuals. Every building study,
campus plan, and design is a unique
response to our clients’ particular project
requirements and evaluation criteria as
well as the special constraints of their
capital and operational budgets, existing
facilities, and sites.
