Step One – Adding Pictures.

• Open the InDesign document you will be working from. Do this by selecting File>Open from the Control panel at the top of your workspace. • Navigate to the picture file you would like to import and double click the file name.

• Drag and place your picture to your desired position and click your mouse.

• Adjust the size of your picture, if necessary, by selecting the picture using your Select tool and clicking one of the handles (small squares) located on the frame

Step Two – Adding Fonts

• You can type text directly into your text frame by selecting your Text tool from your Tools palette and drawing a text frame. With your Text tool still selected, click within the text frame and begin typing your text.

• Place your cursor over one of the handles on your text frame and drag your mouse until your text frame is the correct size. You may also resize a text frame with your Type tool by holding the Control key while dragging one of the handles on the text frame.

• Move your text frame by clicking it using the Selection tool and dragging it to its new location.

Step Three – Colour of font

• Select the text you want to change.

• Go to Window in the top menu bar from the drop down list select Swatches in the Swatches window scroll to select the colour you want.If you continue typing on the colour will follow you.

Step Four-Changing Font Styles.

• Highlight the text you need.

• Click the tool on the right saying Character Style.

Step Five – Placement of Picture.

• From the Toolbox, select the Selection Tool.

• Select the object you wish to move.

• From the Object menu, select Arrange » the desired optionEXAMPLE: From the Object menu, select Arrange » Bring to Front.

Step Six – How to add label.

• Insert the original image of the magazine cover over the one you making.

• Then using the box around it, crop the original image until you have the only the label showing.

• Use the cursor and place the label where it is exactly on the original on your remake.

Step 7 – How to make stars

• Press and hold the mouse on the Rectangle tool. • Select the polygon in the popup menu. • Next, double-click the (now) Polygon tool to see its options.• Experiment with the number of sides and the Star insert to get the star you want -- the "insert" value defines how much the sides of the polygon are pressed inwards.
