The panel must always have its manual included in the supply and the manual must be kept in a handy place available for qualified technicians in charge of use and maintenance of the system.

We recommend installers/users to read the prescriptions and information in this manual

before using the product, in order to prevent damage or wrong use of the equipment that

also voids the warranty.

Please read carefully this manual and follow the instructions included before starting the equipment.

The indications and instructions included in this manual refer to a standard use of the

product; for special situations, operations or applications that are not listed below please

contact our after-sales service.

Should you need to get in touch with our technical service or to order spare parts please

specify the identification code of the model and the manufacturing number indicated on

the plate.

Our after-sales department and service is always available.

The electrical machine supplied must be installed indoors in a ventilated room, with

temperature ranging between +40°C and -5°C.

N.B.: the information included in this manual can be modified without notice. Any damage caused by these instructions will not be kept in consideration since these instructions are only indicative. 5. Installation

Check that mains supply is the same as the one indicated on the plate of the electrical panel and of the motor connected to the panel, then connect earth before making any other connection.

DRENA 1 Mono 1F 230V ± 10% 50/60HzDRENA 1 Tri 3F 400V ± 10% 50/60Hz o 3F 230V ± 10% 50/60Hz

Mains supply must be protected with an earthleakage breaker.

Fix the electrical wires in the terminals using a tool of suitable size to prevent fixing screw damage. Special attention is required if using an electric screwdriver.

DRENA is suitable to be fixed to the wall with screws and inserts inserted in the holes on the corners of the box or the brackets, if included.

6. Front panel

The control panel DRENA 1 is conceived for the adjustable protection of 1 motor, and for its control through external commands (float switches, pressure switches or level probes).

Operation

After having connected the panel to mains supply and having positioned the switch door

interlocking to ON position the LED lights on to signaling mains supply to the panel.

Motor running is indicated by the green LED lighted on.

By pressing the pushbuttons you can set-up:

: motor running decided by the operator;

: motor running controlled by external controls (probes/float switches/pressure

switches);

: manual stop of the motor and reset for overload protection.

7. Set-up and calibrations

MOTORS PROTECTION CALIBRATION

Prior to switch the panel on it is necessary to set-up the overload protection. The electronic board has one of the following regulators on the base of the power of the motor to be controlled and therefore of the power of the panel: from 2A to 22A or from 20A to 44A .

by plugging the ESCL.TIM.TA

With motor running, protection trimmer in max value position and the jumper ESCL.TIM.TA plugged, rotate slowly the regulator toward the minimum

value as far as the motor stops running. Now the value where the motor has stopped must be increased of 15% and the trimmer MOTOR PROT

After completing the set-up take off the 2 jumpers

FILLING AND EMPTYING OPERATIONThe panel DRENA can be used with the function of minimum/maximum level control by probes. The set-up of the operation type should be done on the DIP-SWITCH 1 and 2.

AMMETRIC PROTECTIONSet up the max current for ammetric protection using the MOTOR PROTon the absorption of the motor controlled by DRENA.

9

In case of motor overload the motor is automatically stopped and the red LED and

light on.

The time of intervention and therefore the time for the stop of the motor is 8 sec. the

delay time can be disabled by plugging the jumper on ESCL.TIM.TA.

For resetting the operation of the control panel push the button checking the

cause of the alarm first.

The ammetric protection can be disabled by positioning the DIP-SWITCH 4 in OFF position.

4=ON : lighting of + led, stop of the motor, alarm output enabling;

4=OFF : lighting of led, the motor keeps running, alarm output disabled.

8. Operation with float switches (start/stop)

10

The operation of the control panel with float switches has to be set-up for emptying function by the DIP-SWITCH 1 and 2.

EMPTYING:DIP SWITCH 1= ONDIP SWITCH 2= OFF

The motor is enabled to run only when both the float switches of stop and run (connected on COM-MIN and COM-MAX) are closed and it will be started when G1 closes when there is a 3rd rd float G1 has to be bridged. When COM-MIN contact opens the motor stops and the alarm output is enabled.

9. Operation with level probes

Page 11: INDEX [] file2 INDEX 1. Symbols and warnings Page 3 2. General information Page 4 3. Warnings Page 5 4. Technical characteristics Page 6 5. Installation Page 6 6.

11

The operation of the control panel with level probes has to be set-up for filling or emptying function by the DIP-SWITCH 1 and 2.

FILLING:

DIP SWITCH 1= OFFDIP SWITCH 2= ON

The motor is enabled to run only when both MIN and MAX probes are not immersed in the liquid (contacts COM-MAX and COM-MIN opened), and the motor is started when G1 closes. When COM-MAX closes the motor stops and the alarm output is enabled.

EMPTYING:

DIP SWITCH 1= ONDIP SWITCH 2= OFF

The motor is enabled to run only when both MIN and MAX probes are immersed in the liquid (contacts COM-MAX and COM-MIN closed), and the motor is started when G1 closes. When COM-MAX opens the motor stops and the alarm output is enabled.ATTENTION: A different set up of DIP SWITCH 1 and 2, that is both in ON or OFF position, determines the malfunction of the system, that is without a level control (motor never stops or never starts).

12

In case of activation of probes the motor stops, the red led lights on to indicate

the level alarm (max or min according to the type of operation chosen filing or emptying

and the alarm output contact activates. This signal can be excluded positioning the DIP-

SWITCH 3 in OFF position.
