India - Assam Tea Gardens Ride Ride on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra amid the lush tea gardens of Assam The holiday starts at Mancotta, a beautifully renovated estate manager’s home set in the midst of the tea estate. From your veranda and over morning tea, you will hear the jingle of bicycle bells and the chatter of the tea workers as they walk or cycle to work. The trails explore the surrounding Brahmaputra plain, rain forest and tea gardens. After four nights at Mancotta, head north to the Limbuguri Tea Estate and Dibru-Saikhowa National Park for two days of exploring, one day with the horses and one day without. The trip includes a two day safari in the Kaziranga National Park. This world heritage site boasts the largest population of the one- horned rhinoceros as well as elephant, buffalo, tiger and swamp deer. Sightings are relatively common and you should be able to see these amazing animals from your vehicle and also from the back of an elephant. A ride through Rajasthan in the famous golden triangle,Delhi-Jaipur-Agra

Travelling by horseback is surely the best wayto experience rural Rajasthan. Whilst ridingthrough the ancient kingdoms of Shekhawatiyou experience the complete spectrum of lifefrom subsistence farmers who maintain a verysimple existence to the privileged life of themaharajas. Few tourists visit the Nagaur Fair in northwestRajasthan and it is mainly for local people andthose who travel hundreds of miles to visit andtrade. You travel from Delhi to Bikaner byovernight sleeper train and then ride for sevendays through the spectacular desert landscapeof the Great Indian Desert. The terrain is openso there are good opportunities for longcanters.

Accommodation is a combination ofcomfortable hotels with plenty of character andcamping in style in the more remote areas.

A ride centered around India’s most famous horse,camel and cattle fair.

The Pushkar Fair in Rajasthan is one of theworld’s largest camel fairs. This ride is run intwo halves with the Pushkar Fair in the middle.You can choose to do just one half or both.

The first half - the Pushkar Shekhawati Ride isthrough the ancient kingdom of Shekhawati, adesert area interspersed with small villages.The Marwari horses used on this part of theride come from the stables at Dundlod Castle,home to Kanwar Raghuvendra Singh, knownto everyone as Bonnie.

The second half - the Kumbhalgarh Ridemoves west of Pushkar and south of Jodhpur.The terrain changes to more fertile ground withmore mountainous scenery. The days can belonger and the pace slower due to the terrain.

Riding in Mongolia is an experience thatcannot be compared with anywhere else onEarth; the high elevation of Mongolia createsunusually clear air and gives a real sense ofemptiness and vastness.

Your journey on horseback is a close encounterwith Mongolian horsemen and their horses - anomadic people who to date have survivedmodern pressures and lifestyles.
