Specifications for preparing advertising material in digital format
Provide PS (Post Script, EPS or PDF (high resolution) files.(All high resolution images and fonts must be embedded when a Postscript file is saved. Native application files, .eps or tiff files not accepted)All images used must be Hi-Res. (Minimum 254dpi for pictures and minimum 1000dpi for Line Work.Black text should be 100% black and overprint on the background. (All the text should be in linework)All ads submitted must be accompanied by a digital proof taken from the same file and the same size. Final colors will not match digital proof provided but will be used as a reference. Page should be exact in size and centrally positionedCut marks should not be on the image area. For single color ads, picture should be Grey Scale.File compression (text & graphics) should be minimum.Screen Rulling :Covers 133 lines per inch Inside / Page 120 lines per inch.COPY REGULATION :The India Today Group reserves the right to revise or reject advertisements in accordance with their standards of acceptability. The Group also reserves the right to reject advertisements that fail to comply with federal & state laws and those of The Indian Newspaper Society. The India Today Group will not be responsible for any errors in advertising material provided by the advertiser or its agency or for changes made after the closing date. The Group reserves the unrestricted right to acquire any advertising matter to be labeled “Advertisement” if it is not immediately recognized as such. The India Today Group has the right to insert the advertisement anywhere in the specified media property at its discretion, unless mutually agreed. All advertising positioning clauses (page location, separation, facing editorial copy etc.,) cannot be guaranteed and will be treated as requests only. The India Today Group will not accept advertisements which are deceptive, discriminatory indecent or offensive to good taste. Unsolicitated ad material will be discarded within 60 days.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTSBleed allowance: Allow 8mm each on left and right side and 3mm at top & bottom each. To ensure live matter is not cut in trimming, it should be well within 11mm from cut marks on widthwise and 5mm on height wise. Gutter: Type or illustrative matter on facing pages should not be closer than 2mm to centerfolds on each page which provides 4 mm total separation
