Indiahoma Alumni to Play in the Big 12 Championship!
Danielle Patton, daughter of 1st grade teacher Tami Patton and Ret. Colonel Scott Patton and a 2016 graduate of Indiahoma High has
been playing rugby for the University of Oklahoma for two years. The team is known as the OU Roses. This year, the women’s
team placed high enough in conference play to earn a berth in the Big 12 Championship.
The game that pushed them over the brink was played at home, Saturday, Oct. 21st. against Angelo State University located in
Texas. The team won by one try for a score of
14-7. A try is similar to a touchdown in football.
The team must get the ball beyond the rugby up-
rights for 6 points with the opportunity to kick an
extra point.
The championship game will be played at North
Texas University in Denton, Texas.
Danielle is studying English, Russian and pre-law
at the University of Oklahoma.
