CREATORS NOTEThe first spark for New Owner came when touring another of our shows, It’s Dark Outside. There is a scene in the show where a white fluffy dog reunites with his owner. No matter where in the world the show is performed the scene always greatly affects the audience, they absolutely fall in love with the dog, and it made us want to explore that character more.

We started thinking more deeply about dogs and their lives. We began thinking

about how when dogs are adopted, a new owner will never know the adventures or experiences that dog has been through before they came into their lives.

In New Owner, we explore the many relationships in the life of a dog and how his experiences change him. We follow him during his adventures, seeing what he sees from his perspective. You can look forward to getting to know the humans in this story through their feet!

We also wanted to say, if you are thinking about getting a pet dog for yourself or your family, please take the time to consider adopting a pet from an animal shelter. There are lots of beautiful souls looking for a new owner and we hope this show inspires you to see things a little more from their perspective.

ABOUT THE COMPANYThe Last Great Hunt is a collective of Perth-based theatre makers: Gita Bezard, Adriane Daff, Jeffrey Jay Fowler, Arielle Gray, Chris Isaacs and Tim Watts.

These ‘Core Artists’ use a diverse range of skills, focus and aesthetics to create an imaginative and eclectic mix of interactive experiences, visual theatre, devised and text-based work.

The Last Great Hunt empowers our Core Artists to create ambitious and exceptional theatrical experiences and connect these works to audiences near and far. Since 2013 we have produced 19 critically acclaimed new works in Perth, some of which we tour regionally, nationally and internationally.

Our works tell stories that challenge, engage and move our audiences. We explore contemporary ideas and offer a positive discourse on social factors. We create new experiences that are relevant and important to both our audiences, and to ourselves. We value creativity, collaboration and artistic risk

taking.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSOriginally presented in collaboration with the AWESOME Festival and the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) in 2016.
