Tourist transportation contribute to severe local airpollution in remote areas like Ajanta and Elloratemples.
In areas with high concentrations of tourist activitiesand mountain areas of the Himalayas and Darjeeling,trekking tourists generate a great deal of waste.
Tourists on expedition leave behind their garbage,oxygen cylinders and even camping equipment.
Sewage runoff - serious damage to coral reefs
Examples : coastal areas of Goa,Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, etc.
