INDIAN VALUERS CONGRESS48TH INDIAN VALUERS CONGRESS BY THE INSTITUTION OF VALUERS (INDIA) AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE

THINSTITUTION OF VALUERS WILL BE HELD FROM THURSDAY 28

THDECEMBER TO SATURDAY 30 DECEMBER, 2017AT CHITNAVIS CENTRE, CIVIL LINES, NAGPUR. (MAHARASHTRA)

The Institution of Valuers (India) cordially invites Valuers, Engineers, Architects,

Cost Accountants, Officers of Government Departments and all other intellectuals

of India interested in the subject of Valuation to grace the occasion with their

presence at the inauguration of the 48th Indian Valuers Congress being held at

Nagpur (Maharashtra)

The Institution of Valuers (Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of

1860), the only professional body of its type in India, was founded in the year

1968, on the auspicious birthday of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The

Institution at present has on its rolls

a membership of more than 27,000 Valuers, including retired Generals,

Brigadiers, Colonels of the Army, Chief Engineers, retired and in service, Director-

Generals of CPWD, highranking officers of State PWD’s and highly qualified and

experienced professionals from all over the country.

This Institution has been formed to assist in the task of formulation of ideas,

spreading knowledge and education on matters relating to Valuation for the

Central and State Governments and other relevant organisations, educational

Institutions and the general public. It also renders advisory service to Valuers,

Government Departments, Banking Institutions and the General Public in solving

their problems and overcome difficulties in Valuation techniques through its

monthly journal Indian Valuer (which the members of the Institution get free of

cost) and also by holding Seminars / Lectures / Workshops regularly all over India.

The fellowship of the Institution is awarded only to the highly qualified

engineers and architects with requisite experience in the field of Valuation. All

members are bound by the code of conduct and professional ethics as

propounded by the Institution.

Congress / Seminar :

For the last 49 years in succession this Institution has been organising Congress

/ National Seminars at different places in India relating to the Valuation of

Immovable, Movable and other Assets and these have been inaugurated by

various State Governors, Cabinet Ministers, Chief Ministers, etc. Our Congress /

Seminars have proved to be very successful

and popular and have been attended by a large number of delegates from Central

/ State Government Departments and Valuers throughout India. The last Indian

Valuers Congress/ All India National Seminar was held at Puducherry and was

inaugurated by Shri A. Namassivayam, Hon’ble Minister of Puducherry.

All the 53 Branches of the Institution of Valuers are also conducting Seminars /

Lectures / Workshops on various subjects of valuation from time to time in their

respective areas.

Why the Congress / Seminar ? In todays India, financial Institutions are competing with each other to give loans for flats, houses, cars and what not. It is a risky business, as the return is not always assured unless the asset is valued properly. This congress / seminar is thus devoted to educate the delegates and other participants to value assets correctly and with full responsibility on the basis of scientific and legally accepted procedure and standard norms. It will provide a common platform for the Valuers Community, financial institutions and Government authorities to interact and exchange concepts and ideas and help those participating in it to upgrade their knowledge in the field of valuation. This 48th Indian Valuers Congress is planned to have State-of–the-art lectures, invited talks, paper presentations, and industrial presentations broadly covering the following areas from distinguished professionals, research scholars as well as reputed financial institutions from all over India. The Congress / Seminar also highlights the effects of taxes and the legislation on the construction of buildings and houses and other immovable and movable assets. This helps clarify ambiguities and controversies on various aspects of the subject. It also inculcates amongst all the valuers a feeling of mutual affinity in the professional work and code of ethics.

Congress / Seminar for whom It is meant for valuers of all types of assets, Central / State Government Departments, Income-Tax authorities, Chartered Accountants, Income-Tax Advocates, Intellectuals and other concerned persons who want to gain knowledge of valuation of the assets correctly. Also the tax-payers stand to benefit by attending these Congress/seminars.

Papers All intellectuals concerned with valuation are invited and requested to contribute and send papers for self presentation in the Congress. Relevant points or queries which they feel would be worth discussion during the occasion are also invited.

All the materials meant for presentation at the Congress should be sent to the Institution of Valuers, Plot No. 3, Parwana Road, Adjacent to Bal Bharti Public
