1.0 INTRODUCTION
• I hold an engineer degree in Industrial Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology – Indonesia. I obtained a Master Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Ph.D. in Resource Economics from the University of Florida - USA.
• I have worked at BPPT since 1986. Prior to the current position, I was a director at some centers at BPPT.
• I have been involved in introducing and initiating national and regional innovation system development, industrial cluster, innovation networks, technopreneurship, regional e-development and competitiveness, including developing regional competitiveness councils, and in various science & technology policy, R&D policy, and innovation policy reform initiatives in Indonesia.
• I was an author and co-author, and editor/co-editor of several books, proceedings, and papers related to the aforementioned topics.

6.1 HOW IT IS IMPLEMENTED & MONITORED (1)
1. A Deputy Chairman propose the main themes of priority programs to the Chairman. Based on the Chairman’s approval, the programs (subprograms) are assigned to the centers/implementing units (IUs). Centers/IUs can also propose the programs to the Chairman, through the Deputy Chairman.
2. Every program (subprogram) is designed in more detail (by the “troika” : Program Head, Chief Engineer & Program Manager) & should be documented in a Program Manual.
3. Deputy Chairman is responsible for programs assigned/approved by the Chairman, and proposed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the Chairman.
4. Directors are responsible for program (sub-program) & activity implementation, and proposed KPIs to the Deputy Chairman.
