Instructions to candidates

1. The rules for the conduct of Western Australian external examinations are detailed in the Year 12 Information Handbook 2014. Sitting this examination implies that you agree to abide by these rules.

2. Write your answers in Standard Australian English or Indonesian in this Question/Answer Booklet.

3. You must be careful to confine your responses to the specific questions asked and to follow any instructions that are specific to a particular question. You may not use SMS-style abbreviations in any section of the paper.

Structure of the examinationThe WACE Indonesian: Second Language Stage 3 examination consists of a written component worth 60 per cent of the total examination score and a practical (oral) component worth 40 per cent of the total examination score.

Section One: Response (Viewing, reading and responding) 25% (40 Marks)

This section has 10 questions. Answer all questions. Write your answers in the spaces provided.

In this section, Questions 1–7 and Question 9 require responses in English. Questions 8 and 10 require responses in Indonesian.

Suggested working time: 60 minutes.

You will view two (2) clips in Indonesian. Each clip will be shown twice, with a 30 second pause between each viewing. There is a 90 second pause between the second viewing of Clip 1 and the first viewing of Clip 2.

Text 1: Clip – Desa bebas rokok pertama di dunia

View the clip and answer Questions 1–4 in English.

Question 1 (4 marks)

(a) What is the name of the village referred to in the video? (1 mark)

(b) In what province is the village located? (1 mark)
