Study Spaces

Group Study Rooms. Booking Required.

Rooms may be booked in person with the Security Office at the library entrance.

You must leave your ID card at the Security Office for the duration of the booking - this will be returned to you

when you depart. In the event that you cannot come to the

library in person, requests or enquiries may be made to library Security staff at

(061) 213067.

Library Opening Hours Autumn Semester

Monday – Friday Library Building 08:30- 23:00

10:00 –19:00Information Desk 09:00 - 21:00

SaturdayLibrary Building 10:00 - 19:00

Information Desk 10:00 - 16:30 Sunday

Library Building 11:00 - 18:00 Information Desk Closed

Books and how to borrow them• Over 110,000 books

• You need a current student ID card

• Remember books issued on your card are your

responsibility

More about loans• 5 in total (Postgrads 10)

• General lending books for 14 days (Postgrads 28 days)

• In addition 2 Short term loan books

• 2 one-day loan books• 2 three-hour loan books

Short loan borrowing times

LoansYou can borrow 3 hour short loan

material from 18:00 Monday - Thursday and keep it overnight

ReturnsThe overnight 3 hour short loan

material must be returned by 11:00 the following morning in order to

avoid fines

Please use the self service machine in the

short loan areaLoans

You can borrow 1 day short loan material on Friday from 12:00 in order to keep it for the

weekend You can borrow 3 hour short loan material on

Friday from 18:00 in order to keep it for the weekend Returns

1 day /3 hour short loan material must be returned by 11:00 the following Monday morning

in order to avoid fines

Renewing books • Renew online using the library catalogue

under "My Account Section" • By telephone 061-202158 • At the Information Desks

• General lending items may be renewed if not required by another reader

• Short loan items may not be renewed

Save time and money. Return your books or renew them on time.

• Short loans, 3 hour and 1 day: €1 per hour or part of• 3 day loans: €2 per day

• General lending & 7 day loans 1-7 : 50c per day

• Day 8 onwards: €1 per day

If you do incur a fine• You can pay online using a credit

or laser card - for any fines over €5.00 (you must pay your fine in

full if you choose the online option)

• You can pay in cash at the information desk (you can pay

your fine in full or in instalments if you choose this option)

Self-service machines You may borrow and return items.

You receive a receipt for each transaction.

You can beat the queues at the Service Desk.

You can use the machines when the Service Desk is closed,

especially at weekends.

borrowing allowance • You have overdue items

• Your outstanding fines exceed €20.00

Photocopying: Locations

• Ground Level beside the ITD Help Desk

• In the Short Loans Area • On Floor 1 opposite the

Postgraduate Reading Room (A colour photocopier is also

available here)

Photocopying: Cards • Buy cards from the card

dispensers located in the photocopying Room on Floor 1

• Card dispensers will only accept coins - a change machine is

located here for your convenience.

50 unit card - €4 100 unit card - €8

Photocopying: Black & white copying charges

A4 copy - 8 cent A4 copy - 80 cent Colour copying charges

A3 copy - 16 cent A3 copy - €1.60

The colour photocopier on Floor 1 also photocopies onto

transparencies.
