better barber education.

• ETHOS: Our ethos is simple: Practice and solid structure make better barbers. LSB has revolutionised barber training through its intensive hands-on approach (up to 150 haircuts), proven course structure, and easy to learn techniques.

• ART TEAM: LSB not only trains barbers but also pushes the boundaries of male grooming through work in photo shoots and stage work.

Haircut ModelsWe provide an abundant and steady flow of models for you to practice on. However, sometimes models do not show up for free haircuts, or due to external circumstances (tube strike, etc) there may be gaps in the models.

In instances when there is no model, your educator will provide you guidance. They may suggest any of the following:

• You may be asked to search for a model outside• You may be asked by your teacher to get your headblock out to practice on• You may write out steps to a haircut• You may assist with styling of haircuts or practice styling on a headblock

Grading & AttendanceYou will be given an overall grade on the course of Distinction, Merit or Pass.

Your grade will depend on the following factors:• Professionalism and Attitude• Attendance• Technical ability

Your grade is adjusted downwards if you are absent as follows:1. Daytime: 5 OR MORE ABSENCES (LATENESS COUNTS AS A HALF-ABSENCE)2. Evenings: 8 OR MORE ABSENCES (LATENESS COUNTS AS A HALF-ABSENCE)

If you know that you are going to be absent, then please notify us by email at [email protected]. Do not phone us for absences.

If you are absent 8 or more times without having notified us in advance, then you will be dropped from the course without refund. We book models for you to cut. If you do not attend others have to rush to cut the models that were allocated to you. This disrupts our whole learning structure for teachers and students.

Level 2 Daytime Competition

END OF COURSE COMPETITION (Daytime course only)

There will be a skin fade haircut competition on your final week 9. A model will be provided to you for this competition. The competition will be held at the St. Paul’s Academy and will last about 90 minutes and allows you to showcase your abilities and work. Not attending or participating in the competition will affect your final grade.

Teaching ApproachIt is our duty to get you to a job ready barbering standard.

This means that:

• Trainers are fair but stern.

• Trainers will provide constructive criticism and be direct at some times.

• Trainers will question you in front of clients and challenge your knowledge. This can make you uneasy at times.

• Demos are for your guidance and a chance for you to ask questions.

We are all here to have fun and share some laughs, but first and foremost we are here to learn.
