Warnings, Cautions and Notes

HP 1810-8G Switch [J9802A] switch Setup

1. The network switch has by default the IP 192.168.2.10/24. Setup a pc with the IP 192.168.2.5 and attach a network cable to the first port of the switch. Open the browser and type http://192.168.2.10 to login. The below screenshot must be appeared. Click “Login” to login without password.

2. Click “VLANs” and “VLAN Configuration” and follow the steps shown in the below screenshots. With these steps the needed VLAN IDs are created in the memory of the switch.

3. For the created VLAN IDs we add a VLAN name for our convenience.

4. Click “VLANs” and “Participation/Tagging” to setup the ports for each VLAN ID.

5. Setup the management IP.

1. If the switch has the factory default settings setup your pc network with IP 192.168.2.5 and subnet mask 255.255.0.0. If the switch is already setup use the IP 10.123.179.10 and subnet mask 255.255.0.0

2. Open the browser and type the appropriate IP. For this guide the switch has factory default network settings.

3. Follow the below steps to select the way that the setup file will be transferred to you pc.

4. Save the configuration file locally.
