2. Introduction
This manual applies to the LALIZAS Inflatable Liferaft series Leisure-Raft. TheLALIZASLeisure-Raftsareavailableinthefollowingtypes:

3. Description of the Liferaft
TheliferafthasanOperatingTemperatureof00Cto+500C and a stowage/drop height ofmaximum4mabovethesea-level.
Theliferaftispackedinavalisewhichcanbestoredinaninternallockeraswell.The liferaft container is manufactured by materials that are resistant to exposure of bad weather.
Theliferaftcanbeup-rightedincaseofitbeingcapsizedanditisabletowithstandthenumberofthepersonsitisdesignedtoaccommodatewhenitfloats.Itautomaticallyinflatesbypullingthepainterlineandretainsitsnormalconditionwhenitisloadedwithallthepersonsandtheequipment.Itsfloorismanufacturedbywaterproofmaterials.
Themainbodyoftheliferaftconsistsofonebuoyantcompartment(containingsafetyvalve)manufacturedbyNylonTPUcoated.Itisinflatedthroughanon-returnvalve,ensuringtheflotationoftheliferaft.Incasethebuoyancychamberisdamaged,thepump,thatisincludedinthestandardequipmentoftheLiferaft,canbeusedforrestoringthepressure.
Thecanopyoftheliferaft(forthemodelswithcanopy)whichisofvividcolorisdesignedtoprotectthepersonsintheliferaftagainstbadweatherconditions.Itbearsoneentrancethatiseasilyindicatedandallowstheflowofsufficientairforthepersonsonboard(evenwhen it is closed).
TheinflationsystemoftheliferaftprovidesenoughCO2gastoinflatethebuoyancychamberandbearsanonreturnvalveactivatedbyanoperatingheadthatisdrivenbythepainter line.
For all models of the Leisure-Raft, gas cylinder used for inflation is refillable. Tomaintainthegoodoperationofgascylinder,itmustbeinspectedperiodicallybyaLALIZASauthorized service station.

4. Instructions for use of the LiferaftInflation of the liferaft
Whenthetimetousetheliferaftcomes,firstofallyoushouldsendalarmsandsignalsbyallmeansandputonlifejacketsorotherprotectiveappliancesonboard.Youshouldalsoremembertocarryemergencypositionindicator(EPIRB),GPS,freshwaterandfoodasmuchaspossible.
Movetheliferaftfromthestowagepositiontoanopenplaceonthedeckoftheboat.Takeoutthepainterlinemarkedfabriccovervaliseandpulloutapproximately2me-
tersofpainterline.Attachthepainterlinetoasolidpointonthedeckoftheboat(Picture3) to secure the liferaft.
Takethevaliseandthrowitintothewater(Picture4).Thevaliseoftheliferaftwillfloat.Duringthetimeofthevalisefallingintothewater,thepainter linewillbepulledout
continuously.Whenthevalisearrivesatthewatersurface,thestrongpullingoutofpainterlineshallgoonimmediately(Picture5),untilthereleasecableconnectedtothepainterlineactivates the operation head of the gas cylinder.

Thegascylinderthenwillinflatethebuoyancytubeoftheliferafttoitsfullshapeandtheliferaftwillfloatonthewatersurface.Aftertheinflation,asmallnormalleakagemayoccurinordertostabilizethepressureofthechamber.Iftheliferaftisinupward-floatingpositionafteritisfullyinflated,pullthepainterlinetodrawtheliferaftclosetotheship.Iftheliferaftisinreversedpositionafteritisfullyinflated,onepersonshallrightitovertoupward-floatingpositioninthefollowingway:
Theoperatorshallgrabwithonehandthesidewhichisequippedwiththegascylinder, pulltherightinghandleandturnitoveraboutthecylinder.Itwillbeeasierunderconditionof downwind.
Ifthepassenger’spositionisnotfarawayfromthewatersurface,heorshecanjumpintotheliferaftdirectly.Thepassengersfallenintothewatershallswimclosetotheliferaft,andthenboardtheliferaftthroughboardingstrapaftertheyhavetakenoffshoesandsharpobjects.
Afterallthepassengershaveboardedtheliferaft,separatetheliferaftfromtheshipquicklybycuttingoffthepainterline.Checkthepositionofthesafetyknifeinthediagramoftheliferaft(seePicture2).
Afterboarding,exceptseatingorderly, theoccupantsshallsearchanyothers inthewaterandhelpthemtoboardtheliferaftbygivingprioritytotheinjuredones.Anyfaintedpersonsinthewatermustbeputonboardafterbeencarriedwiththeirbackclosetothetubeandliftedfromarmpits.Allthepersonsthatareonboardshallbeasdryandheatedaspossible.
When the liferaft is away from theabandonedshipandinasafeposition,aftercheckingthattheseaanchorisconnectedtotheLiferaftproperly,unrollitandlaunchitsoastoavoidliferaftfloatingtoofarawayfromthesinkingshipforthesakeofrescuingintime.
Maintain the liferaft in a good condition.
Installation of the Canopy
Forthemodelsequippedwithcanopyfollowtheinstructionsbelowtoinstallthecanopy.• Findthecanopybagandopenit.• Inflatethecanopyarchusingtheredoraltube.• Whendonewithinflation,assemblethecanopyarchwiththebuoyancychamber
usingthebucklesattheendsofthearch.• Findthehook&looptapeontheinsideofthecanopyfabricandmatchthemwith
thehook&looptapeontheCanopyarch.• PulltheorangefabricdownandhooktheclipsintheD-ringsonthebuoyancy
tube.• Liftthecanopytillitisverticaltothefloor.• Placethebottomofthecanopyoutsideoftheliferaft.• Inordertoensureprotectionfromphysicalelementskeepthecanopydownand
closed.

6. Advice on the transportation and the storage of the liferaft6.1Transportationoftheliferaft:
• When transporting or moving the liferaft use only the handle on the top of the valise.
• When placing it down on surfaces put it with special care.
6.2Storageoftheliferaft:
• Beforeputtingtheliferaftinitslocationreadtheowner’smanual.Keeptheman-ual in a safe position.
• Theliferaftmustalwaysbelocatedinadryplace,withoutobstacles• Donotputweightsoranymetallicitemsinthemainbodyoftheliferaft.• Itisalwaysnecessarytofollowtheregulationsthatareobligedabouttheinstal-
lationoftherescuemeansonboard.• Theliferaftshouldneverbeusedasasteporasaseat.• Theliferaftshouldneverbeattachedusingchainsoranydevicewhichisdifficult
tobeseparated.• Youshould installmore liferaftson thesameboat. If so, the liferaftsmustbe
located with a certain distance one to the other. • Itmustbestowedinsuchawaythatwouldnotsufferanycollisionsandwouldbe
protectedagainstanyfactorsbytheenvironmentelements.• If theliferafthasmajordamagesonthevalise,youshouldcontactaLALIZAS
authorized Service Station. • Thereisapossibilitythatsomeofthestandardfittingsoftheliferaftmayaffect
theperformanceofacompass,soyoushouldkeeptheliferaftatleastonemeteraway from the compass.
• Grease,oil, fuel andvarious impuritiesmaydamage the fabricandaffect thelifetime and operation of the liferaft.
7. Maintenance and servicing of the liferaftAdvice on the servicing of the liferaft
Theliferaftshouldbeinspectedandservicedatintervalsnotlongerthanthreeyears.Incaseofactivation,orexistenceofdamages,serviceitimmediately.TheinspectionandservicemustbeperformedbyaLALIZASauthorizedServiceStation.LALIZASS.A.isnotliableforanyinspectionorservicecarriedoutbyanunauthorizedServiceStation.

Important Note: Makesurethatallthepartsoftheliferaftareinflated.Ifthetubeoftheliferaftisdeflated,youshouldrestorethepressurebyusingthepumpofthestandardequipment of the liferaft. The pressure relief valve is usually located inside the liferaft. If thereisaleakoftheinflationgas,theraftmustbeventilatedusingthecanopyopening.

9. LOG BOOKInstructions on how to keep the log book
A. Thelogbookofaliferaftshouldalwaysfollowtheliferaftinallitssuccessiveassignments.B. The liferaft should be equippedwith the sameaccessories andmaterialswhen it isdelivered and during its successive assignments afterward.C. The liferaftshouldbe inspected&servicedperiodically,whichmustbedoneonlyby Service Stations authorized by LALIZAS.
