Project number : 2017-3-RO01-KA105-046973.
Stage dates: 1st of June 2018 – 31 of March 2019 (12 months) .
Short introduction about Resita:
Resita is a small mountain town located in the south western part of Romania it is a fairly
small city mostly in lenght than in width, you can reach the other end by walking in 2 hours, it is
close to the Serbian border, and the Hungarian border as well, because in the past Resita was a
heavy industry city, in the communism period, with metalurgy, iron works, mining and so on,
nowadays the city is experiencing lack of work force, lack of motivation from youngsters to
contribute to the well being of society and the reality being how it is we can find 3 segregated Roma
communities at the borders of the city, which will be our main priority.
One of the big
metalwork factories in
Resita still operating.
The reality in Resita when it comes to youth work at local level and volunteering the motivation in
the youngsters is low, that’s why trough these 12 months we have high hopes that we can actually
bring some change in the lives of the people in the community as well as the youngsters who drop
off from school, people with disabilities and so on, motivate those who are willing to see change at
local level, cooperate with the local youngsters and showing them our work.
As such, one of our main goals is to increase the education level within the communities, for this
we will do educational activities with the youngsters (e.g. English language, team building activities,
taking responsibility for their actions, recycling etc.) we will work in schools as well as do field
activities and trough these we hope to achieve a more active social society.
The working program will be 5 days/week with 6 hours/day.
Keep in mind !
Our main target group are the
Roma youngsters, youngsters with
disabilities, youngsters with fewer
opportunities, and youngsters that
drop out of school, the reason for
this being said is that we will do
field work, research to observe
what can be done in the
communities and so on, this means
that we will work a lot with the
poor communities, and this is the
reality, the idea is to motivate,
show them that they can do it as
well without our help, self
sustainability in the community,
raising education, and generally
contributing to the good
development of the people we will
be working with !

which by the way you can visit anytime !
Money and prices:
Life in Romania is cheap, comparing to
the other EU countries, here 1 EURO =
4.5 RON. A bread costs around 20 – 70
EURO cents, a beer at a pub is 70 EURO
cents, to eat in the city, a Menu ( 1st
course + 2nd course around 3 - 5 EURO )
so all in all Romania is a pretty cheap
country to live in, of course the
volunteers will have a monthly budged
which is calculated based on the
Erasmus + rules for the EVS, and they
will have the responsibility of managing
their expenses as well.
About the youthpass…
All participants in the EVS programme have the option of
receiving a Youthpass certificate which proves their participation in the EVS programme. Youthpass is a
tool to document and recognize learning outcomes from youth work activities. It is available for projects
funded by Erasmus+: Youth in Action (2014-2020). It is a part of the
European Commission’s strategy to foster the recognition of non-formal learning, putting policy into practice
and practice into policy.
