DISTRIBUTOR CAPS u 18-5248 distributor cap for OMC/ Volvo applications. This cap features all brass contacts for high conductivity and long life. Designed for Ford 302/351 engines. Works in conjunction with the current 18-5413 rotor. u 18-5473 (black) & 18-5474 (red) are high performance distributor caps for Sierra’s popular flame-thrower replacement V-8 distributors. These high dielectric strength caps with brass terminals allow the use of female terminal plug wires for a more secure fit and better plug wire conductivity.

Available in various speed ranges to meet your application, the GPS speedometer is offered in a number of popular styles to match the colors in your boat like Premier Pro, White Premier Pro, Amega, Arctic and Eclipse instrument lines.

Our GPS speedometer can be connected to an existing NMEA 0183 receiver. You can also purchase our custom design GPS receiver/antenna separately. This product is ideal for all speed applications and is particularly useful for slower speed craft and higher speed craft where traditional speed sensors like pitot tubes and paddlewheels do not perform well. An added advantage is there is nothing in the water to corrode or break.

Water is commonly found in fuel systems and can come from a variety of sources. Condensation, fuel handling and humid marine environments will increase the presence of water. are you?In 2009, the EPA required all primer bulb assemblies to be manufactured utilizing very low permeation fuel hose. The regulations are designed to reduce pollution causing hydrocarbon permeation through the hose by as much as 85%.

In response, Shields introduced a multi-layer EPA-compliant fuel line specially engineered and manufactured for outboard-powered boats. This product is designed for use in above deck primer bulb assemblies. In addition to meeting EPA regulations for evaporative emissions, Shields Silverado 3000 fuel line also meets California Air Resources Board (CARB) standards for small engine use.

Shields offers boaters and the boating industry its Silverado 3000 fuel line in two sizes — 5/16” inside diameter and 3/8” inside diameter — to accommodate a wide range of outboard-powered vessels and applications. core PoLicyThe return of carburetor cores ensures the continuation of Sierra’s remanufactured carburetor program. As such, Sierra has tried to simplify the process as best as possible. First, the core charge is built into the price of the carburetor, eliminating multiple charges for the item. Second, to return the old core -simply place the old unit in the box the new remanufactured unit was shipped, fill out and attach the supplied core tag, and ship to Sierra at the address on the return tag. Sierra will receive and process the core return, and issue a $75.00 check direct to the returnee listed on the tag.

GEAR SETSSierra invested more than three years in development and testing our current line of gear sets that included all new forging dies, developing stringent material and heat treat specifications. They shim the same, install the same, mesh the same, and last as long or longer.

caBLesTraditional cables vary by the stiffness of the core wire and how tightly it fits in the casing. Thus the classic trade-offs that have existed in control cable design:

u Stiffer core/tighter fit offers less lost motion, but is harder to move. With longer and more complex runs, cable movement becomes progressively more difficult. u More flexible core/looser fit has an easier feel, but allows more lost motion. This approach leads to an overall sloppy feel, RPM loss or difficult gear engagement.

These trade-offs aren’t an issue for cables with technology because they are different

— really different!

WHY USE POWER ASSIST?Today’s high horsepower engines are much heavier and are producing more propeller torque than ever before. Naturally, this additional weight and torque has an effect on the boat’s steering when these loads are transferred to the wheel. Unacceptable levels of steering load can increase driver fatigue and discomfort. The SeaStar Power Assist virtually eliminates all steering loads and provides modern boaters the same level of steering comfort and control found in cars. Even in the most extreme applications, the boat will be more comfortable to steer. SeaStar Power Assist allows the boat to be driven safely and easily by the whole family.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW:The SeaStar Power Assist unit can be installed on new SeaStar steering installations or as an easy retro-fit to existing systems.

Suitable for most boat types, the SeaStar Power Assist uses an electronically controlled hydraulic pump to provide on-demand power steering. It is installed into the hydraulic steering circuit between the helm and steering cylinder. The Power Assist unit is powered from the boat’s battery and adjusts automatically to the input voltage (12V or 24V).

The SeaStar Power Assist can be used on boats with multiple engines and rudders, multiple steering stations and autopilots.

If power to the unit is interrupted for any reason, the steering system will automatically return to manual operation without any change to the number of lock-to-lock turns. In this case, the steering will of course be heavier than with the Power Assist activated.
