According to the Federal Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) as part of the World Tourism Day, the Secretary of Tourism, Enrique de la Madrid Cordero has declared the new designationof 28 new Magic Towns, and with them, a total of 111 Magic Towns.

Breakfast. Basilica of Guadalupe and Mass and City Tour. We will see the 3 Cultures’ Square, site of the Church where Juan Diego was christened. We will continue to the Basilica of Guadalupe. In 1531 The Virgin of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego and the Basilica was built to honor the Virgin. We will visit the Present Basilica and the Ancient one, as well as the museum. We will visit the “Pocito” and the Gardens. We will go uphill where we will see the Church dedicated to Juan Diego. Return to the hotel. In the evening transfer to the Basilica (8 hours.)

Mass at the Holy Family Church and Teotihuacan. After Breakfast departure to the Holy Family Church dedicated to Saint Miguel Pro who was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1988. Mass at 09.00. We will continue to Tulpetlac, place where the 5th apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe took place. We will continue to Teotihuacan Pyramids. Through the modern Highway to Pachuca, we will arrive to the Archaeological Zone of Teotihuacan, the City of Gods, located at about 30 miles northeast from Mexico City and where we may admire the impressing Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, walk through the Avenue of the Dead, see the Butterflies Palace and the Temple for the Plumed Serpent, Quetzalcoatl.

FESTIVITIES
Each year, beginning on the first Saturday from October until the first Sunday in November, the feasts of October, one of the most important cultural expressions from Guadalajara, will be celebrated at the Benito Juarez Auditorium and in several different venues.

FESTIVITIES
It is a colorful and traditional fair that takes place in the famous Portals from the city of Toluca, which are located in the downtown section of the city and surround the Cathedral Church dedicated to Saint Joseph.
Its most typical activities, are the sale of “alfeñique” sweets, sugar skulls, “puchas” and typical sweets at the Portals. A wide variety of sweets made with sugar by the best artisans. Those days, there will also be many other cultural activities, such as theater performances, children workshops,

The word “alfeñique” has Arabian origins, it is the name that was given to a cooked sugar paste which was stretched and twisted in thin bars. Nowadays, this name is given to the confectioner’s sugar figures that are made for the Day of the Dead.
The traditional Alfeñique and Regional Sweets from Toluca Fair has been celebrated since 1989 with the aim of invigorating the milenary tradition of the Day of the Dead.

With the Celebrations for the Virgin of Guadalupe Day, the economic turnover generated by tourism in Mexico City during December will increase to 543 million 897 thousand pesos, informed Mexico City’s Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco.
The Minister specified that for the Virgin’s celebration we are expecting the arrival of 2 million 171 thousand 092 visitors, of which 83 thousand 871 will arrive to hotels, while 125 thousand 187 visitors will find accomodations with family or friends.

In a communication, Torruco stated that one million 962 thousand 124 hikers (travelers without accomodations) will also arrive to our country capital, coming from the metropolitan zone from Mexico’s Valley and the State of Mexico.
Also, visitors from Puebla, Queretaro, Morelos, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Michoacan and Veracruz, who jointly will generate a turnover of 98 million 543 thousand pesos.He added that on December 11th y 12th, the hotels occupation will reach 76.8 per cent.
