• Starting Fri 27.8.2021 at 15.00 ending Tue 31.8.2021 at 08.00.

• Students (max. 30 / group) will be selected by lottery, but Master's degree students have priority in Beginners’ Courses

• Kindly notice: It is not possible to complete both courses.

• The aim of the course is to offer students basic knowledge of the Finnish language so that they can cope with situations linked with everyday life.

• The course concentrates on practical language use; grammar is discussed to a lesser extent.

• Material will be provided by the teacher.

NB!

The Survival Course is directed at those students who do not intend to continue with their Finnish studies. If you want to continue, you will have to choose Beginners' Course I first.

• 24 h, 4 h/week, 2 ECTS credits, level A1

• Teacher: Ms Niina Kekki

• Enrolment in Peppi (starting August 27 at 15.00)

• *Group 3 – Enrolment starting October 4 at 08.00

• Max. 30 students

• NB! Attendance at the first lesson is required.

• The aim of the course is to offer the students a basic knowledge of the Finnishlanguage in order to help them cope with various everyday situations and to give thema solid start with the grammar.

• During the lessons, basic grammar will be taught and various tasks will be practisedboth in pairs and as group work.

• Pronunciation exercises, listening comprehension exercises, communication exercisesand a small number of writing tasks will be included.

• Material: Gehring & Heinzmann: Suomen mestari 1.

• 48 h, 4 h/week, 4 ECTS credits, level A1

• Enrolment in Peppi (starting August 27 at 15.00)

• Max. 30 students, in the order of registration but preference will be given to Master's program students.

• NB! Attendance at the first lesson is required.

Beginners’ Course I (KIFF0001)

Teaching: 4 groups

1 Mon 10-12 + Wed 10-12 (Päivi Paukku)

2 Tue 10-12 + Thu 10-12 (Päivi Paukku)

3 Tue 12-14 + Fri 8.30-10) (Niina Kekki)

4 Tue 14-16 + Thu 12-14 (Emilia Hongisto – online)

• 60 h, 6 h/week, 5 ECTS, level A1

• Teacher: Ms Emilia Hongisto

• Enrolment in Peppi: Fri 27.8.2021 at 15.00 - Thu 9.9.2021 at 08.00 Students (max. 20 per group). Attendance at the first meeting is compulsory.

• This course is intended only for students from certain Master's Degree Programmes

Intensive Beginners’ Course (KIFF0003)

• Some courses will be arranged remotely during the autumn term 2021.

• Intensive Beginners’ Course, group 1

• In order to participate in language and communication distance learning, the student should have a device equipped with a microphone and a camera.

• Learn other basic phrases, food vocabulary,

spoken language and numbers

• Listen to audio files and practise pronunciation

• Translated into 9 languages
