INDUSTRY NEWS

INFORMATIONAL PICKETING/RALLIES:

Last week began with over 800 pilots participating in informational picketing events in Anchorage, Los Angeles and Memphis. The week ended with an impressive showing of pilots and their families attending rallies in Cologne and Hong Kong. With pilots and their families coming together at each of these events, the attendance demonstrated our steadfast resolve to see this negotiation through to a successful end. "Last week was a great week for FedEx pilots and it was their support that contributed to the success of these events," said MEC Chairman Captain Scott Stratton. "We know that management looks past the Negotiating Committee and what they saw last week was a wall of pilots standing shoulder to shoulder as one, with one clear message—Contract Now, It's Time."

We would like to thank everyone who came out and participated in these events. It's time for management to recognize our contribution to the success of FedEx and conclude negotiations. Below you will find links related to various news coverage from these events.

CONTINUATION TRAINING 2015:

The new CQ curriculum has been finalized for 2015, which begins in a few weeks. The CLOE is again a 2-leg event. For CMV-1 and CMV-2, the first half of the period has been reserved for training. However, the second half is the 'validation' portion of the event. Additionally, instructors have been given the following guidance as it pertains to this portion of the event: 'A maximum of two validation attempts, per task, is permissible.'

Don't wait until the last minute in your preparation process. The ALPA Training Committee website as well as the FedEx website are appropriate places to start and provide much of the information you will need to be successful.

Simply reviewing the "gouge" will not be enough to ensure success. Devote at least 15 minutes per day when on the road for self-study to keep your technical and operational knowledge well tuned.

Also, schedule a PEPP sim. Call your training scheduler 2 months prior to your due month to ensure that you get it on the books!
