Missionary visit of our founder Visit of our founder in Assuncao Formation in Rio de Janeiro On the way to Bolivia our founder stopped at our missions in the capital of Paraguay, the city of Assuncao. Together with our co-founder he visited a neighborhood where there is located a large waste dump. He took advantage of the time there to celebrate one more step in the religious formation of three young people from Paraguay who are in their formation process with our community. When he arrived in El Alto, Bolivia, he visited our two missions there, one a brother’s house and the other a sister’s Formation and postulancy in Rio de Janeiro From the 24 th to the 28 th of May the mis- sion in Rio de Janeiro received the visit of their Regional Minister, who gave forma- tion to the religious brothers and sisters, lay-persons, and the youth of “Rescue- house, encouraging them and helping them with their ministry to the homeless. For the Poor Rescue-me

Every Tuesday, the mission in the Stateof Para has their street ministry in the in-ner-city of Belem. Our religious sistersand brothers, lay-associates, and the youthof “Rescue-Me” participate each weekin the ministry. In Penha de Franca, SaoPaulo, where breakfast is served daily tothe people who live in the streets, our re-ligious and lay-associates had a specialcrowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In the month of May six Rescue-Me en-counters were held in various locales inBrazil: Sao Luiz, Maranhao; GovernadorValadares and Belo Horizonte, MinasGerais; Rio de Janeiro; Sao Paulo; andBelem. Among all of the encounters, therewere more than 800 youth who partici-pated. Among them, we had the pres-ence of 100 youth who are incarceratedat APAC (Association of protection andassistance to the incarcerated) in BeloHorizonte, where the encounter was heldwith the assistance of the Directors of thefacility.
