In 1996, Infosys created the Infosys Foundation in the state ofKarnataka, operating in the areas of health care, socialrehabilitation and rural uplift, education, arts and culture.

In 1997, Infosys started the "Catch them Young Programme", toexpose the urban youth to the world of Information Technologyby conducting a summer vacation programme.
