ABOUT THE CHARITYOur commitment to giving back started with the values of our founder, Bob Sheetz. Our employees’ willingness to help has evolved into Sheetz For The Kidz™, an employee-driven 501(c)(3) charity, independent of Sheetz Inc. The charity relies on volunteers to execute its mission: to provide support, hope, joy and happiness to children in need in the communities where we operate. Funds raised throughout the year benefit the Sheetz For The Kidz Holiday Program, Make-A-Wish®, and Feeding America™.SHEETZ FOR THE KIDZ HOLIDAY PROGRAMA tradition was born in 1992 when a group of Sheetz employees created a way to give children in need the opportunity to celebrate the holiday with new toys, clothes and other basic needs. They began the Sheetz For The Kidz holiday event. The $12,000 raised that first year was enough to take 126 kids in Blair County, Pennsylvania, on a Christmas shopping spree for the items that they needed most. The level of giving through the charity today is outstanding! The program works with the Sal-vation Army to identify families and collect their holiday wish lists. Our employees from every Sheetz operating area shop, wrap and host special Christmas parties for the participating children. • Each Sheetz store helps 16 children in their community experience a brighter holiday. • In 2020, we brought smiles to the faces of nearly 10,000 kids across our six-state operating area.MAKE-A-WISHSheetz For The Kidz developed a partnership with Make-A-Wish in 2005. Through a donation of $150,000 that year, the charity sponsored 30 families of seriously ill children for an all-expense-paid dream vacation to Orlando, Florida, fulfilling their “wish.” Sheetz For The Kidz continues to work with the good people of this organization to fulfill the wish of one child in each of our operating districts. • In 2021, the charity will grant wishes for 58 children with life-threatening medical conditions.FEEDING AMERICAIn an effort to broaden our connection in the communities we serve, Sheetz For The Kidz recently partnered with Feeding America to provide food to kids in need. Feeding America will work with a network of local food banks and agency partners, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and meal programs, based on Sheetz store locations, to allocate funds. • IThe charity committed to a $1,000 contribution per store which is equivalent to 10,000 meals per store. • In 2021, the charity made a $640,000 contribution to support child-hunger programs.
