    Pgina 1. Pgina de introduccin, que repasa algunas expresiones dela unidad 55 y prepara para los acontecimientos de la historiade esta unidad. Los nios leen en voz alta los ttulos de losfolletos, y despus responden a las dos preguntas Puedencontestar en su propio idioma, pero sera de desear que al res-ponder a la segunda pregunta ofrecieran algunas deas eningls; por ejemplo: Perhaps he wants to go to the seasideor the country.

    Pgina2 El habitual repaso de las princpales expresiones aprendidasen la unidad anterior. Utlice la ilustracin para la prcticade la lectura, como de costumbre, bien leyendo las frases envoz alta y pdiendo a los nios que las busquen, bien haciendoque los nios las lean para que usted las encuentre Tambinouede cambiar los personajes de alguna de las frases (p ej':Do you ... =-Does he always come to the beach by bike?;No. I don't. = No, he doesn't; Where are you going? =Where is he goingT). Procure que los nios se fijen en la pro-nunciacin y repasen la unidad 55 si lo considera necesaro.

As pues, hay dosposibilidades para expresar lo contrario de una frase con some-thing (There's something n the casel' a saber: There'snothng in the case, o bien There isn't anhing in the case'La historia puede utlizarse para todas tas actividades hab-tuales, como escucha, escucha acompaada de la lectura,prctica de los dilogos, canto de las canciones, representa-cin escnica, dbuio, etc. Al principio de la historia la narrado-ra hace algunas preguntas a las que los nios pueden con-testar mientras escuchan. La conversacin entre Solomony Plux que sigue a la cancin 3 es muy divertida para ser es-

    cenificada. En la parte superior de esta pgina aparece la par-titura de la cancin Where is SolomonT

    Pgina 11. Ejercicio de comprensin de la lectura. Despus de escucharla historia, los nios dicen si las frases son correctas o no'

    Pgina 12. Revsin de los nmeros ordinales y de algunas palabras, entreotras floor (first floor, etc.). Los nios observan con dete-nimiento la ilustracin para encontrar dnde se venden losdistintos artculos, y responden a las preguntas. Una vezlas hayan contestado, puede hacerles practcar ms, pregun-tndoles cosas similares acerca de los restantes artculosque hay en la tienda. Adems, los nios pueden magnarseque estn en la Oficina de Informacin de la tenda, y seturnan en hacer preguntas y responder a ellas.

    Pgina 13. Un enigma para practicar la construccin con by ..' (by bus'by train, etc.). Los nios resuelven el enigma y completan lasfrases.

    Pginas 14-15. Pginas de escritura. Los nios escriben las palabras quefaltan, ilustradas por medio de los dibujos y fotografas. (Si lesgusta escribir, pueden poner por escrito la historia completa,y no slo las dieciocho palabras que faltan.) Cuando hayanaveriguado las palabras que faltan, pdales que lean la historiaen voz alta. Recuerde que, tal como se ha dicho ya, si a losnios les gusta escribir, muchos de los ejercicios de otras pgi-nas pueden ser contestados tambin por escrito.
